\n The incident took place on the R401 this morning.\n <\/p>\n
A man has died after a crash involving a crane, and two vans in Offaly.<\/p>\n
The incident took place around 6.40am on the Clonbullogue to Edenderry road near Drumcooly.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed say a crane being carried by a truck came loose, and struck two vans.<\/p>\n
The driver of one of the vans, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
While the driver of the other van, a man in his 30s, has been brought to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore for non-life threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
The road is closed pending examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.<\/p>\n
The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has been notified and will conduct its own investigation.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.<\/p>\n
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 6:00am and 6:30am on Wednesday morning, 27th August, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n
