Emmerdale<\/a> star Chris Coghill<\/a> has revealed that his last moments as Kev Townsend have already been broadcast, though viewers (and his co-stars) are desperately hoping for his return.<\/a><\/p>\n

Kev initially fled the village soon after his arrival when he realised he couldn’t split up Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle. But he made a comeback during the Christmas<\/a> period alongside Aaron’s villainous former flame John, with the pair apparently joining forces in a chilly partnership.<\/a><\/p>\n

He refused to go through with John’s most recent scheme, choosing instead to alert Aaron about the peril he faced. Kev also paid a visit to his son Lewis Barton, who still has no clue about his true parentage.<\/a><\/p>\n

\"ChrisChris announced the exit on Instagram<\/p>\n

Nicola King<\/a> delivered him a final ultimatum, demanding that Kev either step up as a proper father to Lewis or disappear permanently.<\/p>\n

Kev apparently concluded that Lewis would fare better without him and abandoned his son, leaving Lewis none the wiser.<\/p>\n

Coghill has now revealed that his stint on Emmerdale has come to an end, posting on Instagram<\/a> : “Right. In a bit Emmerdale. Been an absolute joy. Thanks for all the love for Kev”, followed by “#kevout”.<\/p>\n

In the replies, fans made it crystal clear they’re desperately hoping Kev makes another comeback, and not solely because of the potential storylines involving Lewis.<\/p>\n

“Please come back Chris,” pleaded one viewer. “Kev was the best thing to happen in Emmerdale for years. Complete nutcase, but bloody hilarious xx.<\/p>\n

“You turned Kev from an unlikable character into a fan favourite. If you ever get the opportunity to come back, please do it for the viewers who love you,”wers who love you,” another fan chimed in.”<\/p>\n

So wished they were keeping Kev,” lamented a third viewer, while a fourth expressed: “Nooooooo I absolutely love Kev and I need him to know his son. “Bradley Riches, known for his role in Lewis, also joined the conversation, commenting: “MISS YOU dad XX.<\/p>\n

” Meanwhile, Danny Miller, who portrays Aaron, declared: “I’m gonna start a petition. “.<\/p>\n

Could this public plea from one of Emmerdale’s biggest stars hint at a potential return for Kev? Only time will tell.<\/p>\n

Just last year, Chris told The Mirror<\/a> that when he was first offered the part, something about the role made him not want it initially. He learned the big news that Kev would at some point be killed off<\/a> and possibly soon.<\/p>\n

With that, actor Chris was unsure about taking the job as he wanted something that would last. That was until bosses told him exactly who Kev was and what “fun” could be had with the character, and Chris decided to go ahead with it.<\/p>\n

He told us: “When I was offered it and I was told he dies I thought, I like Emmerdale and I\u2019d like to be around for a bit, so I\u2019d want to come and do something that had some potential longevity.<\/p>\n

“But when I was told what the character was and I came in and was told they weren\u2019t meeting anybody else I thought, actually this sounds like a right laugh.”<\/p>\n
