{"id":266697,"date":"2026-01-04T11:58:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-04T11:58:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/266697\/"},"modified":"2026-01-04T11:58:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-04T11:58:07","slug":"snow-ice-and-low-temperature-warnings-issued","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/266697\/","title":{"rendered":"Snow-Ice and low temperature warnings issued"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Status Yellow Snow-Ice warning has been issued for Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Connacht and Louth.<\/p>\n<p>Met \u00c9ireann has forecast wintry showers with some snow accumulations, sharp or severe frost and ice also.<\/p>\n<p>The warning came into effect from earlier this morning and is valid until 11am tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures are expected to fall to between -2C and -5C generally, with sharp or severe frost and icy stretches with black ice too.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Ice on a tree branch\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/002381f2-614.jpg\"\/><br \/>\nTemperatures are expected to fall to between -2C and -5C generally (file photo)<\/p>\n<p>Met \u00c9ireann is warning of hazardous travel conditions and poor visibility.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a Status Yellow Low Temperature\/Ice warning has been issued for Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford, Wicklow, and Munster.<\/p>\n<p>That warning is valid from 5pm to 11am tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>In Northern Ireland, the UK Met Office has issued a Yellow warning for snow and ice for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone, Derry with the potential to cause disruption to travel into Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The warning is valid until midday tomorrow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A Status Yellow Snow-Ice warning has been issued for Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Connacht and Louth.
