There is one major benefit to your hubby having his own chat show! Tommy Tiernan’s wife, Yvonne, got a chance to meet one of her idols in the sporting world.<\/p>\n

Tommy interviewed the legend Linford Christie on his chat show, and the pair appeared to hit it off both on and off screen. However, it was Yvonne who was truly thrilled to meet the star, whom she described as a ‘gentleman.’<\/p>\n

She posed with Linford in the studio, gushing over the athlete. ‘Lovely @linford_christie\u00a0\u00a0was one of my favourite guests on The Tommy Tiernan Show. A beautiful man, a gentleman, strong, intelligent, graceful, interesting & humble. Such an honour to meet him,’ she wrote.<\/p>\n

Tommy is a seasoned pro when it comes to interviewing sportspeople, having had countless legends turn up in the chair beside him during his RT\u00c9 show.<\/a> However, the star surprised him.<\/p>\n

Linford might have been known as a confident athlete on the track, but he was a lot more reserved when chatting on the show.<\/p>\n

Tommy pointed out that the 100m Champion appeared to be very different from what he came across while competing. ‘You’ve a very lovely nature, there is a great sweetness to you,’ he told him.<\/p>\n

‘There is a great contrast between that and the kind of balls out, big eyes,’ Tommy laughed. ‘It’s a show out there,’ Linford explained, ‘you have to go out there and assert yourself and take charge.’<\/p>\n

Fans agreed, with one person taking to the comment section<\/a> to write: ‘He was so nervous speaking for one of the greats..some athlete.’<\/p>\n

Others pointed out just how nice Linford came across, with one person saying: ‘Wonderful interview with an incredible man. Thoroughly enjoyed it,’ one person said, while another added: ‘Wow! It\u2019s still emotional for him, and I\u2019m not surprised.’<\/p>\n

Linford also stunned Tommy <\/a>as he recalled the moment he won gold at the Olympics, saying: ‘It’s a bit daunting, to be honest, to be out there, but I knew, I knew I was gonna win. There was just something in me that I knew I was gonna win.’<\/p>\n

‘The scariest place in the world is coming through, they got a tunnel that takes you out onto the track and coming through that tunnel, out to the track, that is scary.’<\/p>\n

‘Because it’s all quiet… and for that split second you can hear a pin drop, and then the crowd just goes absolute loopy, and they start to cheer for you, and for everybody else, and I make believe that the only person they’re cheering for is me.’<\/p>\n
