Temperatures could drop to -6 degrees<\/strong> overnight as Met \u00c9ireann has warned of a “treacherous start” to Monday morning with frost, ice, and freezing fog patches.<\/p>\n

As the cold snap<\/strong> continues, wintry showers in the north and west<\/strong> with some snow accumulations, sharp or severe frost, and ice can be expected.<\/p>\n

A status yellow snow-ice warning<\/strong> is in effect for Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Connacht and Louth.<\/p>\n

The warning came into effect this morning and is valid until 11am on Monday.<\/p>\n

Temperatures are expected to fall to between -2 degrees and -5 degrees generally, with sharp or severe frost and icy stretches with black ice too.<\/p>\n

Met \u00c9ireann has warned of hazardous travel conditions and poor visibility.<\/p>\n

According to the forecaster, other counties could also receive some wintry showers.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a status yellow low temperature and ice warning has been issued for Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford, Wicklow, and Munster.<\/p>\n

This warning is valid until 11am on Monday as well.<\/p>\n

Overnight temperatures are forecast to range from -2 to -4 or -6 degrees yet again on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

As for the general outlook, Sunday will be another cold and frosty day, with early morning ice and fog or freezing fog slow to clear.<\/p>\n

Conditions will be dry and sunny in the southeast, while scattered wintry showers will affect other areas, bringing additional snow accumulations.<\/p>\n

Daytime temperatures will range from 1 to 5 degrees, with light to moderate westerly winds.<\/p>\n

Sunday night will turn very cold again, with further sharp to severe frost and icy stretches.<\/p>\n
