Roads in many parts of the North West are treacherous this morning after temperatures dipped to as low as minus 6 degrees in some places.<\/p>\n

Met \u00c9ireann is warning that many counties will be affected by frost, ice and freezing fog patches this morning.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Gardai are advising the public not to make unnecessary journeys this morning.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Parts of the north and west were hit with snow showers with accumulations in some areas.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
A Status Yellow Snow-Ice warning is in effect for Sligo, Leitrim, Donegal Cavan, Monaghan the remainder of Connacht and Louth and Met Eireann has said that other counties could receive some wintry showers.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n
The warning is valid until 11 this morning.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
A number of schools will be closed today in the North West while in the North a significant number will remain closed due to the weather conditions.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Feehily schools will not be running today.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n

Locally roads in Tubbercurry are said to be dangerous with HGV vehicles finding it difficult to pass through the town.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are asking the public to avoid all non-essential journeys in this area.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
In Leitrim the roads are dangerous all over.\u00a0 The N16 and roads around Glenfarne are said to be very dangerous.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
In Donegal there have been further falls of snow as well as freezing conditions.\u00a0 Once again Gardai have advised caution especially around the Donegal Gap.<\/p>\n
