Recently, while on a solo sunrise photo shoot at House of Refuge beach, Cosme stopped short when she noticed a strange brown object wedged between the rocks.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1755355689_480_scale;webp=auto;jpeg_quality=60.jpg\"  alt=\"turtle stuck in rocks \" width=\"792\" height=\"909\" style=\"display:block;height:auto;aspect-ratio:792 \/ 909\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>Suzanne Cosme <\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"0\">\u201cAt first, I thought it was driftwood,\u201d Cosme told The Dodo. \u201cBut as I got closer, I realized it was a sea turtle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1755355689_118_scale;webp=auto;jpeg_quality=60.jpg\"  alt=\"turtle trapped in rocks \" width=\"792\" height=\"606\" style=\"display:block;height:auto;aspect-ratio:792 \/ 606\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>Suzanne Cosme <\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"0\">The huge loggerhead was clearly stuck. She seemed tired and confused, unable to return to her home in the waves.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"1\">\u201cMy heart dropped,\u201d Cosme said. \u201cIt was such a surreal and emotional moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"2\">Cosme immediately called the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/FWCResearch\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">FWC Fish and Wildlife Research Institute<\/a> and told them about the turtle. She kept a safe distance from the animal as she waited for help.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"0\">About 40 minutes later, an institute officer and firefighters from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/MartinCountyFireRescue\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Martin County Fire Rescue<\/a> arrived. They slowly approached the 300-pound animal and assessed her condition. Then, using a special board, they carefully pulled her out from between the rocks and carried her closer to the water.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1755355689_34_scale;webp=auto;jpeg_quality=60.jpg\"  alt=\"men moving turtle \" width=\"792\" height=\"643\" style=\"display:block;height:auto;aspect-ratio:792 \/ 643\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>Suzanne Cosme <\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"0\">Thankfully, the turtle was still in great health. As soon as she sensed the ocean nearby, she began paddling back to sea.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"1\">\u201cIt was incredibly moving,\u201d Cosme said. \u201cI teared up watching her disappear into the waves. It felt like witnessing something sacred.
