That\u2019ll be \u2018extremely unlikely,\u2019 analysts say \u2013 DL News"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul class=\"list-outside pl-8\">\n<li>Bitcoin has retraced 10% from its recent all-time high<\/li>\n<li>Market data points to aggressive selling.<\/li>\n<li>Bitcoin\u2019s shot at $140,000 this year is a coin toss, analysts say.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"puppeteer-article-text-type-element\">Two weeks on from setting a new all-time high above $124,000, Bitcoin has slipped into a funk that has some analysts fretting over its price prospects this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"puppeteer-article-text-type-element\">Analysts at 10x Research warn that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dlnews.com\/articles\/markets\/bitcoin-breaks-new-record-as-analysts-anticipate-huge-rally\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bitcoin reaching $200,000 this year<\/a> is \u201cextremely unlikely,\u201d despite it being a popular price target given by the likes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dlnews.com\/articles\/snapshot\/credit-expansion-drive-bitcoin-ethereum-price-says-hayes\/%5d\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Arthur Hayes<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dlnews.com\/articles\/markets\/strategy-will-benefit-from-trump-crypto-reserve-says-bernstein\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">analysts at Bernstein, Bitwise, and Standard Chartered<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"puppeteer-article-text-type-element\">Instead, the 10x Research analysts say the chances that Bitcoin will reach $140,000 are barely better than a coin toss. They\u2019ve calculated a 54% chance of the price reaching that target before the end of the year. That\u2019s only a 27% uptick from the current $110,000 price.<\/p>\n<p class=\"puppeteer-article-text-type-element\">What\u2019s behind the muted expectations? The analysts blamed a slowdown in inflows, massive selloff from miners, and seasonal patterns that make the third quarter Bitcoin\u2019s worst-performing time of the year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"puppeteer-article-text-type-element\">And there\u2019s market data that indicates a near-term price decline for Bitcoin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"puppeteer-article-text-type-element\">Data from <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoquant.com\/prochart\/u81tWkRcnlfQwO\" rel=\" nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CryptoQuant\u2019s<\/a> ratio of buyers to sellers for Bitcoin has tumbled to its lowest level since 2018.<\/p>\n<p class=\"puppeteer-article-text-type-element\">The collapse in the ratio is a major red flag for Bitcoin. It indicates aggressive selling is the dominant force on crypto exchanges, which sets up an imbalance that could sharpen price declines if the selling pressure accelerates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"puppeteer-article-text-type-element\">While Bitcoin is still in a bullish cycle, the data points to a \u201cmismatch between the price and sentiment,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoquant.com\/insights\/quicktake\/68ad849ce6d63121c5fabfa8-Taker-Buy-Sell-Ratio-reaches-lowest-value-since-November-2021?utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=sns&amp;utm_campaign=quicktake&amp;utm_content=gaah\" rel=\" nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">according<\/a> to CryptoQuant analysts who say there is a strong possibility of volatile price movements in the short term.<\/p>\n<p class=\"puppeteer-article-text-type-element\">The same sentiment is only playing out on Polymarket, the crypto-backed betting platform.<\/p>\n<p class=\"puppeteer-article-text-type-element\">The $125,000 option is the most popular <a href=\"https:\/\/polymarket.com\/event\/what-price-will-bitcoin-hit-in-2025\" rel=\" nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">bet<\/a> for the price Bitcoin will reach in 2025.
