{"id":273963,"date":"2026-01-08T11:06:09","date_gmt":"2026-01-08T11:06:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/273963\/"},"modified":"2026-01-08T11:06:09","modified_gmt":"2026-01-08T11:06:09","slug":"the-lowdown-renewed-for-season-2-at-fx","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/273963\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018The Lowdown\u2019 Renewed for Season 2 at FX"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/fx\/\" id=\"auto-tag_fx_1\" data-tag=\"fx\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">FX<\/a> will continue to follow the exploits of Tulsa, Oklahoma \u201ctruthstorian\u201d Lee Raybon: The Disney-owned outlet has ordered a second season of its noir series <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/the-lowdown\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-lowdown_1\" data-tag=\"the-lowdown\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Lowdown<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe renewal comes about two months after The Lowdown, which stars <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/ethan-hawke\/\" id=\"auto-tag_ethan-hawke_1\" data-tag=\"ethan-hawke\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ethan Hawke<\/a> as Lee, concluded its first season as one of the most critically acclaimed shows of 2025. The series from Reservoir Dogs co-creator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/sterlin-harjo\/\" id=\"auto-tag_sterlin-harjo_1\" data-tag=\"sterlin-harjo\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sterlin Harjo<\/a> made numerous best-of lists from critics (including those at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/lists\/best-tv-shows-2025\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>) and the American Film Institute\u2019s top 10 shows of the year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSeason two is set to begin production in Tulsa in the spring; there\u2019s no word yet on whether other season one castmembers will join Hawke in the next run. (TV critic <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.whatsalanwatching.com\/the-lowdown-the-best-show-youre-not-watching-is-coming-back-for-season-two\/\" target=\"_blank\">Alan Sepinwall<\/a> first reported the renewal.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe Lowdown follows Lee, a self-proclaimed truthstorian, bookstore owner and citizen journalist as he tries to expose corruption and dirty dealing in his hometown of Tulsa. The first season centered on Lee\u2019s investigation of gubernatorial candidate Donald Washberg (Kyle MacLachlan) and his family following the death of Donald\u2019s brother Dale (Tim Blake Nelson). <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAfter the season ended, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/the-lowdown-creator-sterlin-harjo-season-1-finale-1236418480\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Harjo told THR<\/a> that he hoped to keep exploring both Lee and the world around him. \u201cI\u2019ve thought about many seasons of this show,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019ve thought about other projects \u2014 there was always an idea of going deeper into Oklahoma and some of these relationships that Lee has made in the first season. \u2026 I have ideas. I was telling somebody,\u00a0The Rockford Files\u00a0did it every episode. We could do every season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe season one cast also featured Keith David, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Michael \u201cKiller Mike\u201d Render, Kaniehtiio Horn, Tracy Letts, Peter Dinklage and the late Graham Greene. The Lowdown comes from FX Productions.
