Cork Airport<\/p>\nConfirmed – last flights in MarchCork Airport<\/p>\n
The Budget Airline is removing two popular destinations from Cork Airport<\/a> early this year.<\/strong><\/p>\n Ryanair has confirmed to Cork Beo that their year-round services to Pozna\u0144 and Gdansk in Poland will be removed from Cork’s schedule. Flights for both cities currently run twice weekly, and will continue to do so until their final services at Munster<\/a>‘s regional airport on the 26th and 28th of March respectively. This move comes as a likely knock-on effect from the company’s decision to shift one of the company’s four aircraft in Cork to Shannon for the winter season.<\/p>\n Speaking on the move last July, Michael O\u2019Leary said he has hopes of bringing a fourth aircraft back to Cork this summer: “Shannon Airport has lower costs than Cork. I think we\u2019ll be able to put the fourth aircraft back into Cork next summer. Both Shannon Airport and Cork Airport have grown strongly in the last year or two.”<\/p>\n Both locations were known for their scenic architecture and made for lovely long-weekend getaway spots. The loss of these routes is especially bad news for some of Cork’s large Polish community – an estimated 25,00 people across the city and county – who regularly use them to fly home and visit family<\/a>. There is a silver lining however, as flights to Pozna\u0144 are scheduled to start in Shannon Airport on March 31st – just 5 days after the routes’ last day in Cork.<\/p>\n Those looking to fly straight to Gd\u00e1nsk however will have to book their tickets up in Dublin, where there are currently 5 services a week to the Polish city. This update comes just weeks after confirmation that another Cork Airport route – Aer Lingus’s service to Dubrovnik<\/a> – were also axed.<\/p>\n It’s not all bad news though – Aer Lingus has also recently brought in a Cork-Geneva service<\/a>, and extended its route between Cork and Prague<\/a> from a winter-only service to a year-round service. Aer Lingus’ 2026 Summer schedule also includes popular services to M\u00e1laga, Faro, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Palma de Mallorca, Bilbao and Bordeaux, along with daily services to London Heathrow and Aer Lingus Regional services to Bristol and Glasgow.<\/p>\n
