{"id":275496,"date":"2026-01-09T06:37:09","date_gmt":"2026-01-09T06:37:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/275496\/"},"modified":"2026-01-09T06:37:09","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T06:37:09","slug":"busy-dart-line-will-be-out-of-service-on-upcoming-bank-holiday-with-12-stations-closed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/275496\/","title":{"rendered":"Busy DART line will be out of service on upcoming Bank Holiday with 12 stations closed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For anyone making plans across the Bank Holiday and intending to use public transport, keep the service closure in mind as a number of DART stations are impacted and closed<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/0_dart.jpg\" alt=\"DART carriage\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>DART, stock image(Image: Stephen Collins, Collins Photo Agency)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A popular <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dublinlive.ie\/all-about\/dart\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">DART service<\/a> will be suspended during the upcoming Imbolc Bank Holiday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The Bank Holiday celebrates<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dublinlive.ie\/news\/ireland-bank-holiday-dates-2026-33120741\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\"> St. Brigid&#8217;s Day, <\/a>and this year falls on Monday February 2 2026. Due to engineering works between Connolly and Howth, Connolly and Drogheda, there will be no train service between <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dublinlive.ie\/all-about\/connolly-station\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">Connolly<\/a>\/Howth and Connolly\/Drogheda.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Train services will be impacted on Saturday January 31, Sunday February 1 and Monday February 2. DART services will operate between Connolly and Bray \/ Greystones only. A number of DART stations will be closed for the three-day period of works.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The following DART stations will be closed:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"UnorderedList_unordered-list__gzblI\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"unordered-list\">\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dublinlive.ie\/all-about\/malahide\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">Malahide<\/a><\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Portmarnock<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Clongriffin<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dublinlive.ie\/all-about\/howth\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">Howth<\/a><\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Sutton<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Bayside<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Howth Junction &amp; Donaghmede<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Kilbarrack<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Raheny<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Harmonstown<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Killester<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Clontarf Road<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dublinlive.ie\/all-about\/dublin\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">Dublin<\/a> Bus will accept valid rail tickets for travel within the affected area. For anyone making plans across the Bank Holiday and intending to use public transport, keep the service closure in mind.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Iarnr\u00f3d \u00c9ireann is currently undertaking a range of projects, as well as essential maintenance, across many of their lines. This includes continuing overhead line renewal works on the DART network.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Track renewal work, bridge replacement, points and crossing renewals and other essential infrastructure maintenance and renewal works will occur in a range of locations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Irish Rail said: &#8220;While the vast majority of works take place overnight, or in a way that sees little or no disruption to services, in some instances disruption is unavoidable.
