{"id":276175,"date":"2026-01-09T16:16:11","date_gmt":"2026-01-09T16:16:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/276175\/"},"modified":"2026-01-09T16:16:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T16:16:11","slug":"cork-couple-megan-and-paul-tie-the-knot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/276175\/","title":{"rendered":"Cork couple Megan and Paul tie the knot\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"contextmenu internal_BodyInitial\">While the library might seem like an unlikely place to meet the love of your life, that was where Cork couple Megan Farr and Paul Collins first laid eyes on each other.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Megan, who was home in Cork from NUI Galway for a study week, was putting the head down at the library at Munster Technological University when she met Paul, who was a student there at the time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">The pair hit it off and in 2024 Paul popped the question to Megan at the Shakey Bridge &#8211; her favourite place in Cork.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/4924634_1_articleinlinemobile_ECHO_20FEATURES_20Wedding_20of_20the_20Week_20Megan_20and_20Paul_207_1.jpeg\" alt=\"The couple first met in the library at MTU back in 2014.\u00a0\" title=\"The couple first met in the library at MTU back in 2014.\u00a0\" class=\"card-img\"\/>The couple first met in the library at MTU back in 2014.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Studying isn\u2019t the couple\u2019s only shared interest of course. Megan, of Passage West, is heavily involved in GAA. \u201cI come from a big GAA family and have been involved in Passage West GAA club, undertaking the PRO role from 2016 to 2024, and currently playing on the recently revived junior Camogie team. I am also the current PRO of the Seandun City Division, and you\u2019ll most likely find me on some sideline with my camera at any given weekend,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Paul, originally from Little Island, made the move to Passage in 2022 and recently joined Passage West GAA Club junior football and hurling teams. (Although he regularly returns to Little Island to visit Cork Golf Club where he is a member).<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">The couple were wed at St Mary\u2019s Church in Passage West on September 20, 2025, by Fr. We also had relatives that had travelled from both England and Scotland to be with us on our special day, so it was lovely to have them with us and to catch up with everyone over that weekend. One of Paul\u2019s groomsmen Rob flew in from Porto for the occasion too,\u201d said Megan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">The couple\u2019s mothers served as their witnesses on the day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">The bride\u2019s gown was from Diamond Bridal in Cork.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">\u201cThe dress, from designer Martina Liana, definitely chose me as it was an off the rack dress but fit me perfectly, so I did not have to get many alterations,\u201d said Megan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Accessories were from Rosie and Dott and Megan borrowed her necklace from her mother.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Hair and make-up was by Ciara, Lauren and Cathy from Crown Hairdressing while the tan was by \u00c1ine in Beauty Box Spray Tanning.
