She was undergoing cancer treatment at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Only her inner circle reportedly knew she was sick and had been hospitalized.<\/p>\n<p>Veronica Echegui in \u201cBook of Love.\u201d \u00a9Amazon\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_6-0\">The Post reached out to Echegui\u2019s rep for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Echegui was best known for her work on Apple TV+\u2019s\u00a0\u201cLove You to Death,\u201d the Netflix show\u00a0\u201cIntimacy\u201d and the thriller\u00a0\u201cFortitude.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_35-0\">In the 2015 Sky thriller\u00a0\u201cFortitude,\u201d Echegui portrayed Elena Ledesma for two seasons, opposite Stanley Tucci, Dennis Quaid and Michael Gambon.<\/p>\n<p>Ver\u00f3nica Echegui attends the \u201cYo No Soy Esa\u201d photo call during the Malaga Film Festival 2024. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, Echegui starred on the hit Netflix series\u00a0\u201cApaches\u201d\u00a0before moving to the FX drama\u00a0\u201cTrust\u201d\u00a0in 2018 alongside Donald Sutherland and Hilary Swank. <\/p>\n<p>The late star\u2019s last credited role was in the rom-com series \u201cLove You to Death,\u201d which debuted in February.<\/p>\n<p>Stars have shared tributes since news of Echegui\u2019s death broke.<\/p>\n<p>Veronica Echegui poses on Sept. 22, 2008. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Echegui first landed her big break in 2006\u2019s \u201cMy Name Is Juani.\u201d The film was directed by\u00a0Bigas Luna, who has been credited for jump-starting Pen\u00e9lope Cruz and Javier Bardem\u2019s careers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy Name Is Juani\u201d followed Juani (Echegui) and her best friend as they move to Madrid to make something of their lives.<\/p>\n<p>The comedy drama shot Echegui to stardom in her home country.
