{"id":276351,"date":"2026-01-09T18:39:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-09T18:39:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/276351\/"},"modified":"2026-01-09T18:39:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T18:39:07","slug":"results-of-mckenna-cup-clashes-changed-due-to-rule-breaches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/276351\/","title":{"rendered":"Results of McKenna Cup clashes changed due to rule breaches"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For its second staging in a row, Ulster GAA\u2019s competitions control committee has changed the results of Dr McKenna Cup games because of ineligible players.<\/p>\n<p>Two years after Donegal\u2019s win over Armagh was voided because under-age player Finbarr Roarty lined out, Fermanagh\u2019s win over Cavan on Wednesday has been cancelled, while Down have received the points despite losing to Armagh that same day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The decision comes after there were reported breaches of the third-level policy and regulations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">A statement from the provincial council on Friday afternoon read: \u201cFollowing a meeting of Ulster CCC, reported breaches of Pre-Season 3rd Level Policy &amp; Regulations were reviewed, and the following decisions taken in relation to the fielding of ineligible players:<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cThe Fermanagh v Cavan game is null and void and no team is awarded the points.
