{"id":276509,"date":"2026-01-09T20:32:11","date_gmt":"2026-01-09T20:32:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/276509\/"},"modified":"2026-01-09T20:32:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T20:32:11","slug":"eye-clinic-to-be-constructed-at-former-waterford-crystal-offices-creating-22-new-jobs-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/276509\/","title":{"rendered":"Eye clinic to be constructed at former Waterford Crystal offices, creating 22 new jobs\u00a0 &#8211; News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">Permission has been granted for the development of an eye care medical facility at the former Waterford Crystal offices in Kilbarry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The facility will be operated by Veonet Ireland, who provide services such as cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment and vitreous-retinal procedures.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">This will be the provider&#8217;s third facility in the Republic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The clinic will accommodate five diagnostic rooms and six consultation rooms, along with a theatre and recovery area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Planning documents outline that the facility could employ approximately 22 optometrists, ophthalmologists, nurses, administrative and support staff.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The clinic will operate during normal daily hours and with emergency eye care services available 24\/7 if required.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cThe establishment of Veonet-Ireland represents a significant advancement in eye healthcare for the southeast region\u201d a planning report states.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu caption\">Glassworks<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The approved eye care clinic will be contained within the former Crystal office building, which in recent months has been brought back from dereliction through a major revamp.
