He’s taken about five, and surely you bring a manager in to make things better in the short term, to make things better in the intermediate term, and to build success in the longer term, if you can’t make it immediately. Well, he’s done none of the above. He’s done none of the above.

“And so with that in mind, it’s difficult to work out what it is that he is. I mean, Danny (Murphy) will talk about him, perhaps not being able to watch a penalty, and what that says, I don’t know what it says about the manager and his personality.

“We’ve listened to him over the last six or seven months, and he always perplexes me. It seems no one’s ever prepared besides people like Mourinho, I suspect, never prepared for the understanding of what the expectation is when you go into Man United, they’re always shocked by the scale of interest and a scale of responsibility and the things that come out of their mouths being amplified and sort of spun out in front of the entire world, yeah, but everyone knows that.

“So when you sit in press conferences and say, I’m a young manager, I’m naive. You’re not young. You’re a grown man at 40 years of age. You should, if you’re in the job of Man United, you should be capable of it.

“And saying things that he said over the last six to eight months indicates where United are as a football club, that they’re allowed to say certain things, like they’re not happy, they’re very happy not to participate in Europe because they’re trying to build a team that’s looked vaguely competitive in the Premier League.”

The draw against Fulham means Amorim has fewer points than matches won throughout his last 29 league outings at Man United.

Indeed, the Red Devils have been shrouded in controversy on and off the pitch – United are yet to sell Alejandro Garnacho despite the player agreeing terms with Chelsea, among other names, which will undoubtedly disrupt the harmony within the squad.

Amorim is not thinking long-term at United and is taking each match as it comes, and rightfully so, the upcoming weeks will be an important indication of his future at Old Trafford.

Manchester United can still have a successful season under Amorim

The results are not a direct indication of the performances, and thus far, there are early signs that once the newcomers settle into the side, Man United will kick on this season.

Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo already look like astute additions. While the supporters may have liked the pair to have opened their account for the club in the first two matches, they have certainly looked impressive.

Furthermore, Benjamin Sesko has yet to be handed his full debut by Amorim, meaning patience will be required while the boss finds the ideal solution to fit his new arrivals into the starting lineup.

It is worth noting that only two matches have been played in the Premier League thus far; it is far too early for panic to be setting in among the supporters, and with Burnley travelling to Old Trafford next, Amorim has the perfect opportunity to secure his first three points.

The pressure is building for Ruben Amorim at Manchester United, only two games into the new Premier League…

[76
18,19,17,20,5005,22398,132
0":"post-27656","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-sports","8":"tag-eire","9":"tag-ie","10":"tag-ireland","11":"tag-manchester-united","12":"tag-ruben-amorim","13":"tag-simon-jordan","14":"tag-sports
["GET
