{"id":277052,"date":"2026-01-10T03:44:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-10T03:44:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/277052\/"},"modified":"2026-01-10T03:44:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-10T03:44:07","slug":"us-seizes-another-tanker-trying-to-break-venezuela-naval-blockade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/277052\/","title":{"rendered":"US seizes another tanker trying to break Venezuela naval blockade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n         Published on<br \/>\n            09\/01\/2026 &#8211; 17:55 GMT+1\n            <\/p>\n<p>Washington said on Friday that it had seized another tanker that tried to break a US naval blockade aimed at preventing sanctioned vessels from going to or departing from Venezuela, the fifth such ship that has been apprehended in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Washington has deployed a massive naval force in the Caribbean, striking alleged drug-trafficking boats, seizing tankers and carrying out a lightning weekend operation to capture Venezuela&#8217;s Nicol\u00e1s Maduro.<\/p>\n<p>The latest vessel seized was the Olina, which US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said was &#8220;another &#8216;ghost fleet&#8217; tanker ship suspected of carrying embargoed oil&#8221; that &#8220;departed Venezuela attempting to evade US forces.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The ghost fleets will not outrun justice.
