The highly anticipated finale of Stranger Things<\/a> has upended the U.K.\u2019s Official Singles Chart<\/a> as cast member Djo<\/a> (actor Joe Keery) scores his first No. 1 single with \u201cEnd of Beginning\u201d on the tally dated Jan. 9.<\/p>\n

Alongside his acting role as fan favorite Steve Harrington in the Netflix show, Keery has embarked on a musical career as Djo. He has released three LPs under the moniker: Twenty Twenty (2019), Decide (2022) and The Crux (2025).<\/p>\n

His 2022 song \u201cEnd of Beginning\u201d leaps from No. 7 to No. 1 to better its previous peak of No. 4 from 2024 (the track is up to No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100<\/a>). Djo follows Kate Bush<\/a>, who benefitted from a needle-drop in the show\u2019s fourth season in 2022, with her 1985 track with \u201cRunning Up That Hill\u201d hitting the No. 1 spot on the U.K. Singles Chart for three weeks.<\/p>\n

A number of songs that received placements in Stranger Things \u2014 which concluded its fifth and final season on Dec. 31 \u2014 see major chart gains this week: Prince<\/a>\u2019s \u201cPurple Reign\u201d soars from outside the top 100 up to No. 12; Bush\u2019s \u201cRunning Up That Hill\u201d lifts to No. 14; The Police\u2019s \u201cEvery Breath You Take\u201d rises 41 spots to No. 17 (its highest placing in 43 years); Fleetwood Mac<\/a>\u2019s \u201cLandslide\u201d is up to No. 20; Diana Ross<\/a>\u2019 \u201cUpside Down\u201d rises 60 spots to No. 26; and Tiffany<\/a>\u2019s \u201cI Think We\u2019re Alone Now\u201d improves to No. 27.<\/p>\n

The finale\u2019s closing track, \u201cHeroes\u201d by David Bowie, also benefits with a placing at No. 34 \u2014\u00a0 172% week-on-week uplift, as per the Official Charts Company \u2014 and The Clash\u2019s former chart-topper \u201cShould I Stay or Go\u201d sneaks into the top 40 at No. 40.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere on the charts, Taylor Swift<\/a>\u2019s \u201cThe Fate of Ophelia\u201d holds its spot at No. 2, while RAYE\u2019<\/a>s \u201cWhere Is My Husband!\u201d spends just one week at the summit, falling to No. 3. Dave<\/a> and Tems<\/a>\u2018 \u201cRain Dance\u201d closes at No. 4, and Olivia Dean<\/a>\u2019s \u201cSo Easy (to Fall in Love)\u201d rounds out the top five at No. 5.<\/p>\n

Zara Larsson<\/a> continues to reap rewards of a viral dance trend as her 2016 track \u201cLush Life\u201d lifts one spot to No. 8, closing in on its previous high of No. 3. HAVEN\u2019s \u201cI Run\u201d also rises one place to No. 9, and KATSEYE\u2019s \u201cInternet Girl\u201d debuts at No. 24, the group\u2019s highest spot on the U.K. Singles Chart so far.<\/p>\n
