{"id":278949,"date":"2026-01-11T07:25:15","date_gmt":"2026-01-11T07:25:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/278949\/"},"modified":"2026-01-11T07:25:15","modified_gmt":"2026-01-11T07:25:15","slug":"sunday-afternoon-wind-warning-for-donegal-extended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/278949\/","title":{"rendered":"Sunday afternoon wind warning for Donegal extended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A weather warning issued for Donegal on Sunday afternoon has been extended.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Met \u00c9ireann are warning that conditions are expected to be very windy, with strong and gusty southwest winds.<\/p>\n<p>Potential impacts and threats include some wave overtopping in coastal areas, loose objects being displaced, the potential for fallen trees and branches and difficult travelling conditions on the roads.<\/p>\n<p>The warning will come into effect at 4pm on Sunday afternoon, and has now been extended until midnight that night.<\/p>\n<p>It is also in effect in ten other counties, including: Clare, Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Wexford and Wicklow.<\/p>\n<p>Drivers are still being urged to be cautious on the roads this Saturday evening, as black ice is still present on many roads, including most minor and untreated routes.<\/p>\n<p>However, temperatures are set to rise compared to previous days according to the national weather forecaster.<\/p>\n<p>Overnight lows will be between 2 and 5 degrees overnight tonight, with highs reaching between 9 and 12 degrees tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sunday afternoon wind warning for Donegal extended was last modified:  January 10th, 2026 by Staff Writer<\/p>\n<p>      Tags:<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A weather warning issued for Donegal on Sunday afternoon has been extended.
