However, the deployment could not be confirmed. <\/p>\n<p>The 260-tonne PSLV-DL variant blasted off at 10:17 AM IST on January 12 from the First Launch Pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, achieving precise orbit insertion within 17 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>WATCH MOMENT PSLV LAUNCHED WITH 16 SATELLITES<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiatoday.in\/science\/story\/isros-pslv-c62-roars-to-space-with-16-satellites-redeems-trusted-workhorse-status-2850433-2026-01-12\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">This 64th flight of the veteran launcher <\/a>was aimed at reaffirming its reliability post-2025 setbacks.<\/p>\n<p>Primary payload EOS-N1, dubbed Anvesha and developed by DRDO, targets advanced Earth observation for maritime surveillance, agriculture, and urban monitoring.<\/p>\n<p>Fifteen co-passengers, sourced via NewSpace India Ltd (NSIL), include Indian student\/academic satellites, private sector payloads, and international collaborators like Spain&#8217;s Kestrel Initial Demonstrator (KID) for re-entry tech trials.<\/p>\n<p>Over two hours post-launch, the PS4 stage was to demonstrate de-boost and capsule re-entry, splashing down in the South Pacific.<\/p>\n<p>Following PSLV-C61&#8217;s May 2025 third-stage failure, the vehicle&#8217;s rarest stumble since early flights, this setback raise concerns.<\/p>\n<p>PSLV&#8217;s modular design should have enabled quick anomaly fixes, vital for NSIL&#8217;s rideshare model fueling India&#8217;s private space boom.
