Eyes in the Kingdom will be on Los Angeles tonight, as Killarney’s Jessie Buckley is in the running for a Golden Globe award.<\/p>\n

The 36 year-old is up for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture in the drama category.<\/p>\n

She has been nominated for her role in Hamnet, where she played the wife of William Shakespeare opposite Paul Mescal.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, Jessie Buckley was named best actress at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards<\/a>, often seen as an early indicator as to possible Oscar winners.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Radio Kerry following her Golden Globe nomination<\/a> in December, Jessie’s father Tim Buckley spoke of the Irish involvement in the film:<\/p>\n
