Bruno Fernandes\u2019 X account was hacked on Sunday evening, prompting Manchester United to warn supporters against engaging with any social media posts.<\/p>\n
The United captain is not a regular user of the social media platform, with his most recent post before tonight coming in October, celebrating his 300th appearance for the club.<\/p>\n
But a flurry of activity from 11pm (Irish time), starting with messages regarding cryptocurrency, saw his feed go into overdrive with a string of posts to its 4.5million followers.<\/p>\n

After now-deleted posts about launching a cryptocurrency, the account added: \u201cThis is why I need to get paid more.\u201d<\/p>\n
Focus soon turned to United\u2019s struggles – having just hours earlier been knocked out of the FA Cup by Brighton – with hackers posting: \u201cMan Utd are in the dumps [at the moment].\u201d<\/p>\n
Another post read: \u201cLet\u2019s get rid of INEOS.\u201d<\/p>\n
Further messages tagged adult star Bonnie Blue, and then the England cricket team, before YouTuber KSI and world darts champion Luke Littler were messaged.<\/p>\n
United then confirmed the hack, posting on their own feed: \u201cBruno Fernandes\u2019s X account has been hacked.<\/p>\n
\u201cSupporters should not engage with any of the posts or direct messages.\u201d<\/p>\n
In one of the final posts, the account posted an image of United\u2019s 7-0 loss to Liverpool from 2023.<\/p>\n
It is not the first time a high-profile football star has seen their X account hacked.<\/p>\n
