Brooklyn Beckham’s choice to issue a legal warning to his parents requesting they halt contact was made to safeguard his mental wellbeing. The 26 year old has confided in friends about how social media posts from David and Victoria, in which he was tagged or referenced, had affected him.<\/p>\n
Brooklyn wished for any reconciliation efforts to happen “privately” instead of playing out publicly across social platforms.<\/p>\n
A legal notice dispatched last summer called on David and Victoria to communicate solely through his solicitors and to stop reaching out directly. A source close to the dispute suggests the situation only escalated after his “requests to stop” were disregarded.<\/p>\n
“It had been leading to issues with his mental <\/a>health<\/a>….it was to protect himself,” the source reveals.<\/p>\n Yet in Brooklyn’s view, matters deteriorated further following the letter’s delivery, with Victoria liking one of his photographs, whilst father David shared a black and white childhood snap of him at Christmas. He has now blocked his parents on social media, reports the Mirror<\/a>.<\/p>\n A key point of contention is Brooklyn’s belief that his parents continue to view him as a youngster rather than a grown man. A friend remarked: “Even the Xmas post by his dad was of Brooklyn as a child.”<\/p>\n Brooklyn is reportedly deeply wounded by “misogynistic” suggestions that his wife Nicola Peltz<\/a> is somehow pulling the strings and orchestrating the family rift.<\/p>\n “This narrative is so sexist and misogynistic, and he does not stand for his wife being vilified in this way. They are “desperately sad” about the circumstances, and friends insist that every message or attempt at contact has stemmed from a genuine desire to heal the relationship<\/a>.<\/p>\n “They are only doing what every parent would do in this situation….they love Brooklyn deeply and will always be there for him,” a source explains.<\/p>\n The couple, David, 50, and Victoria, 51, only reached out in an effort to mend fences, insiders maintain. The aggressive legal tactics reportedly caught them completely off guard.<\/p>\n Nicola’s father has previously enlisted \u00a3800-an-hour solicitor Marty Singer, who has represented Prince Andrew and Bill Cosby, to take legal action against wedding planners for Nicola and Brooklyn’s 2022 nuptials. The matter was ultimately resolved through settlement.<\/p>\n The family feud escalated when Brooklyn and Nicola were noticeably absent from David’s 50th birthday bash in London. Last week, The Mirror disclosed that Brooklyn was still maintaining contact with both sets of grandparents.<\/p>\n An insider revealed: “While things between him and his parents are over… Brooklyn is still very fond of his grandparents. There is a lot of love for them, and that has never faltered.”<\/p>\n A significant low point was reached when the Beckhams were not invited to witness the couple renew their wedding vows, three years after they first said ‘I do’. Reflecting on the vow renewal ceremony last August, Brooklyn shared: “We just wanted a really beautiful experience.<\/p>\n “To be honest, I could renew my vows every single day with her. I think the most important thing that someone can do is find that person that they’re going to spend the rest of their life with. It definitely shapes you as a person.
