It was a big night for Scandinavia at the 2026 Golden Globes, but the most triumphant moment of all arrived when Stellan Skarsg\u00e5rd<\/a> claimed the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for his role in Sentimental Value. Yes, the speech, which kicked off with the 74-year-old Swedish icon admitting he thought he was \u201ctoo old\u201d for such an honour, was excellent, but so was the look. Skarsg\u00e5rd looked effortlessly dapper in a custom Zegna look that was part tuxedo, part suit, put together by his longtime stylist, Emine Sander.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen dressing a man like Stellan, it\u2019s so important not to lose \u2018him\u2019 in the styling,\u201d says Sander. \u201cWe have been working together for two years and managed to set a great framework for what looks best on him.\u201d The key is the silhouette, namely a \u201chigher-waisted trouser with a wider leg\u201d and \u201ca jacket that shows a bit of waist\u201d.<\/p>\n

Then there\u2019s the matter of nailing the overall vibe. To achieve the desired level of \u201ceffortlessness\u201d, Sander swapped out the look\u2019s original tuxedo jacket for a less formal velvet suit jacket and skipped the tie altogether. \u201cThis look had the perfect structured collar\u00a0to go no tie,\u201d notes Sander. To finish the look, he wore a gold Seamaster Aqua Terra Shades watch by Omega, its green dial adding a subtle glimmer of colour.<\/p>\n

Skarsg\u00e5rd indeed looked cool and comfortable accepting his award. Rather than waste his precious moments thanking the cast and crew of Sentimental Value, which includes Vogue Scandinavia alumni Renate Reinsve<\/a> and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas<\/a> (\u201cThey know I love them,\u201d he said), Skarsg\u00e5rd playfully shouted out his famous children. \u201cI\u2019m playing a father who is a bad father,\u201d he said. \u201cMy children have really taught me what a bad father is.\u201d<\/p>\n

The other big \u201cthank you\u201d in in Skarsg\u00e5rd\u2019s speech went to his wife, Megan Everett-Skarsg\u00e5rd. “I’ve got to thank my wife,\u201d he said. \u201cShe’s been amazing \u2013 a sort of brutal support, a tough lover and very educational.\u201d Everett-Skarsg\u00e5rd was also styled by Sander in top-to-toe Swedish brands. The draped white top, with cinched waist, and elegant black skirt was custom-made by emerging brand LEON\u00cd<\/a>. \u201cLEON\u00cd is the perfect elegant Scandi brand for this occasion,\u201d says Sander. \u201cWe had this custom made for her. The skirt might be the skirt of all skirts, suits all body types.\u201d The look was completed with a diamond-encrusted link bracelet and statement earrings from Engelbert and a clutch by Susan Szatmary.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted to create a monumental silhouette, almost like a temple – building volume through gathered silk georgette and padded shoulders, contrasting with an elongating draped skirt to ground the form,\u201d says LEON\u00cd designer Filippa Fuxe. \u201cSeeing Megan and Stellan on the red carpet was really special. Megan has such a warm, luminous energy, and it really came through in the best way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Seeing Skarsg\u00e5rd on-stage remotely from Stockholm was a major moment for Sander, too. \u201cI\u2019ve been so exited about this look!,\u201d she says. \u201cWe decided on this in November and Zegna had it made for him.
