{"id":281585,"date":"2026-01-13T01:24:18","date_gmt":"2026-01-13T01:24:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/281585\/"},"modified":"2026-01-13T01:24:18","modified_gmt":"2026-01-13T01:24:18","slug":"brady-completes-switch-to-crystal-palace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/281585\/","title":{"rendered":"Brady completes switch to Crystal Palace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Crystal Palace have snapped up Athlone Town striker Kelly Brady on a free transfer.<\/p>\n<p>The 23-year-old joins the English Women&#8217;s Super League 2 side on an 18-month deal.<\/p>\n<p>Brady bagged 26 goals for the midlanders in all competitions last year as they won a Premier Division and FAI Cup double.<\/p>\n<p>She won both the SSE Airtricity Women&#8217;s Premier Division Golden Boot Award and the Player of the Year Award, drawing big interest from clubs abroad.<\/p>\n<p>Carla Ward called Brady up to the Republic of Ireland squad last November, where she joined Palace team-mates Abbie Larkin, Hayley Nolan, and Ruesha Littlejohn in the matchday squad for the fixture against Hungary.<\/p>\n<p>Brady could make her debut for Sheffield United on Monday evening.<\/p>\n<p>Palace boss Jo Potter said: &#8220;Kelly is an exciting young talent, and we are very happy to have her here at Palace.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She&#8217;s coming off a great season, and her goalscoring ability is going to be a huge asset for us.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Brady described the move as &#8216;surreal&#8217;: &#8220;It feels surreal to be here, I can&#8217;t wait to be involved in the great things the girls have been doing this season.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Crystal Palace have snapped up Athlone Town striker Kelly Brady on a free transfer.
