The main focus of the Luna Rossa is all in its aerodynamics—fitting, for a collaboration with a sailboat racing company.

Alfa Romeo

Starting in front, it has new side appendages to increase the loan on the front axle. The side skirts are designed to function with the new underbody design. This new floor is meant to generate a suction “ground effect,” and the carbon side skirts seal the flow to push the car into the ground.

The rear wing is easily the most dramatic of visual changes thanks to the bizarre “dual profile” design. It draws inspiration from the Luna Rossa AC75 boat, but works in the opposite direction; the design on the boat lifts it out of the water, but here, it forces the car into the ground. Alfa says the package produces 309 pounds of downforce at 186 mph, five times that of the regular car.

Alfa Romeo

All of the aesthetic changes pop, too, as Alfa borrows the styling of the Luna Rossa boat that took part in the 37th America’s Cup in 2024. Lots of detail worl went into the exterior, as all the bodywork is hand-painted. The 19-inch wheels are painted red, and the Alfa Romeo logos are modified with a red background, too. Plenty of visible carbon fiber adorns the car, and “Luna Rossa” can be read along the doors.

Buyers even receive a unique interior with Sparco seats bearing graphics of the “Personal Flotation Devices” used by Luna Rossa’s boat crew. The dashboard has a thin film applied to it, which is the same material used by one of the layers of a Luna Rossa sail. Of course, it has a Luna Rossa logo on the seat shells, and all the carbon fiber bits you’d expect in a Quadrifoglio.

Alfa Romeo

The powertrain is basically the same as a regular Giulia Quadrofoglio, as its 2.9-liter twin-turbo V-6 makes 520 horsepower and doles it out via an eight-speed automatic transmission, making use of a mechanical self-locking differential out back.
