{"id":281752,"date":"2026-01-13T05:42:19","date_gmt":"2026-01-13T05:42:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/281752\/"},"modified":"2026-01-13T05:42:19","modified_gmt":"2026-01-13T05:42:19","slug":"tragic-oisin-12-had-been-rescued-from-limerick-hotel-room-by-armed-gardai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/281752\/","title":{"rendered":"Tragic Ois\u00edn, 12, had been rescued from Limerick hotel room by armed gardai"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A YOUNG boy &#8211; who gardai believe was killed by his father &#8211; was rescued by gardai in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/limerickleader.ie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Limerick<\/a> three months earlier, it has emerged.<\/p>\n<p>Ois\u00edn Reddin, aged 12, is believed to have been killed by his father Wayne O\u2019Reilly, 48, some time last Wednesday night or just after midnight on Thursday. It&#8217;s believed Mr O&#8217;Reilly then took his own life.<\/p>\n<p>Garda\u00ed and emergency services were called to a domestic residence in Cherry Orchard, Ballyfermot, Dublin at around 8.30am on Thursday, January 8.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA body of a male, aged in his 40s, was discovered deceased at the scene. In follow-up enquiries the body of a 12-year-old boy was discovered at a domestic residence in Clondalkin,\u201d said a garda spokesperson.<\/p>\n<p>The Journal has since revealed that armed gardai forced their way into a hotel room in Limerick to save Ois\u00edn after his father threatened to kill him in October &#8211;\u00a0 three months before their deaths. Ois\u00edn and his father had been reported missing in October but were located two days later.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGarda\u00ed tracked the pair to a hotel in Limerick city. Armed Support Unit officers entered the room, detained Wayne O\u2019Reilly, and took Ois\u00edn to safety,\u201d reported The Journal.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple outlets have said that Wayne O\u2019Reilly was facing a custody challenge over the boy in the coming months.<\/p>\n<p>Post mortems on the remains of the father and son have been completed, gardai said.
