Pic: Reyters\/Kim Soo-hyeon<\/p>\n<p>In South Korea, all able-bodied men aged 18 to 28 are required by law to complete 18-21 months of military service, a system designed to deter any threat of aggression from rival North Korea.<\/p>\n<p>After announcing a hiatus, the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/topic\/bts-7994\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>BTS<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>bandmates &#8211; RM, Jin, Jimin, V, Suga, Jung Kook and J-hope &#8211; carried out theirs in separate stints between 2022 and 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Jin, the eldest member, was the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/bts-star-jin-celebrates-discharge-from-military-service-by-hugging-1-000-fans-at-festival-13152419\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>first to finish his enlistment duties in 2024<\/strong><\/a>, while rapper and songwriter Suga became the final member to be discharged in June last year.
