Two years ago,\u00a0Hannibal\u00a0TV series creator Bryan Fuller went into production on the family-oriented horror project\u00a0Dust Bunny, which marks his feature directorial debut. Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions teamed up to send\u00a0Dust Bunny\u00a0out into theatres last month, and now the movie has been given a digital release! It can be found on Amazon<\/a>, where it\u2019s available to purchase for $14.99 or to rent for $9.99.<\/p>\n

Cast and Synopsis<\/p>\n

The story of\u00a0Dust Bunny\u00a0involves\u00a0a 10-year-old girl who joins forces with her hit man neighbor to confront each other\u2019s monsters. Here\u2019s the synopsis:\u00a0Ten-year-old Aurora has a mysterious neighbor (Mads Mikkelsen) who kills real-life monsters. He\u2019s a hit man for hire. So, when Aurora needs help killing the monster she believes ate her entire family, she procures his services. Suspecting that her parents may have fallen victim to assassins gunning for him, Aurora\u2019s neighbor guiltily takes the job. Now, to protect her, he\u2019ll need to battle an onslaught of assassins \u2015 and accept that some monsters are real.\u00a0The film stars\u00a0Hannibal<\/a>\u00a0himself Mads Mikkelsen, along with Sigourney Weaver (Alien),\u00a0David Dastmalchian<\/a>\u00a0(Late Night With the Devil) and Sophie Sloan (Chemistry of Death). Weaver told\u00a0New York Social Diary<\/a>\u00a0that her character is \u201cnot so nice,\u201d despite having \u201creally beautiful costumes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fuller produced the film with Entertainment One\u00a0and\u00a0Thunder Road\u2018s Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee.\u00a0<\/p>\n

JoBlo\u2019s own Chris Bumbray got the chance to watch\u00a0Dust Bunny\u00a0at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) a while back and gave it a\u00a06\/10 review<\/a>, saying the movie is \u201ca lot of fun. Mikkelsen and Sloan\u2019s chemistry, combined with Fuller\u2019s eccentric vision, makes it feel refreshingly original.\u201d<\/p>\n

R Rating<\/p>\n

Dust Bunny is rated R for some violence, a rating that came as a surprise to Fuller and Mikkelsen<\/a>. Fuller thought they were making a movie for the whole family, and he hoped it would be a gateway genre experience for kids\u2026 but the unexpected R rating put a damper on those hopes. Still, he said, \u201cI hope it\u2019s a lot of kids\u2019 first R-rated movie that they get to see and experience.\u201c<\/p>\n
