James Ulster (Greg Germann) died during the Tuesday, Jan. 13, episode of the police procedural. During a dramatic confrontation, Will Trent (Ram\u00f3n Rodr\u00edguez) considered killing Ulster himself rather than turning him over to law enforcement. <\/p>\n
Ulster was a convicted abductor and serial killer. When Will\u2019s mother was pregnant with him, Ulster prevented her from getting medical care, leading to her death. Will was then abandoned in a dumpster and raised in the Atlanta foster care system.<\/p>\n

During Tuesday\u2019s episode, Ulster\u2019s ex-fianc\u00e9e Susan Barno (Michaela Watkins) showed up before Will could decide what to do with him. Susan took both Will and Ulster hostage, forcing them to work together to escape. When Susan pointed her gun at Will, Ulster rushed toward her to protect Will, getting shot in the process. <\/p>\n
Ulster\u2019s chilling last words to Will were, \u201cSee you soon.\u201d Co-showrunner Daniel Thomsen provided some insight into what those words mean. <\/p>\n
\u201cWill probably interprets it as being haunted by him,\u201d Thomsen told TVLine<\/a>. \u201cWhen he\u2019s home with Caleb (Yul Vazquez) afterward, you see Will is haunted. But there\u2019s a dimension to what Ulster means that Will is not anticipating, which we haven\u2019t talked about on this call.\u201d<\/p>\n READ MORE: <\/b>NBC crime drama kills off main character during season premiere<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n While Ulster is dead, \u201cWill Trent\u201d has not officially confirmed Germann\u2019s exit from the show. That means Ulster could still show up in flashbacks or nightmares. \u201cSee you soon\u201d certainly seems to suggest that we haven\u2019t seen the last of him. Maybe Ulster knows something we don\u2019t about what else lies in store for Will this season.<\/p>\n Ulster gave Will a lot to think about during their final interaction, claiming that the two have more in common than Will might think.<\/p>\n \u201c[It\u2019s] really twisted for somebody who has lived such a rough life like Will to have to hear that come from the person who murdered his mom,\u201d Rodr\u00edguez told TV Insider <\/a>of Ulster comparing himself to Will.<\/p>\n Season 4 of \u201cWill Trent\u201d kicked off on Jan. 6. The series follows the titular protagonist, a Special Agent for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Will overcame his background as a dyslexic kid in foster care and uses his strong observational skills to solve complicated cases.<\/p>\n
