{"id":284577,"date":"2026-01-14T21:19:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T21:19:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/284577\/"},"modified":"2026-01-14T21:19:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T21:19:08","slug":"artist-appears-in-court-after-failing-to-preserve-and-frame-cork-brides-wedding-bouquet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/284577\/","title":{"rendered":"Artist appears in court after failing to preserve and frame Cork bride\u2019s wedding bouquet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"contextmenu internal_Body1st\">A judge has granted a court decree to a second disappointed bride over a Co Clare based artist\u2019s failure to preserve and frame her wedding bouquet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">At the Small Claims Court at Ennis District Court, Judge Alec Gabbett granted a decree to Cork woman Laura Sexton for \u20ac225.50 over the failure of artist Charlotte Bradley, trading as Lush Pressed Flower Art of Laghtagoona, Corofin, Co Clare, to preserve and frame her wedding bouquet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">In her claim submitted to the court, Ms Sexton said she loved her wedding flowers and had also planned on leaving some of them on her late grandmother\u2019s grave.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Judge Gabbett said he will also direct Ms Bradley to return the flowers to Ms Sexton.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">The judge said to Ms Sexton: \u201cIt is all I can do for you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Judge Gabbett\u2019s order follows six months on from Co Louth woman, Michelle Markey weeping in court before him over not being able to get back her \u201cpriceless\u201d and \u201cirreplaceable\u201d wedding flowers back from Ms Bradley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Ms Markey of Oriel Rd, Collon, Co Louth told Judge Gabbett: \u201cMy priceless flowers. I gave them away \u2014 I would have kept them if I had known I would never get my wedding flowers back.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">\n            \u201cI do have evidence to show that this is not an isolated incident and reviews on a website show that this has happened to other brides.\u201d\n        <\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Judge Gabbett said that \u201cwedding flowers hold sentimental value, some people put them on their mother\u2019s graves\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">In that case, Judge Gabbett granted Ms Markey a decree of \u20ac200 for the replacement of the flowers against Ms Bradley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">In Ms Sexton\u2019s case, Judge Gabbett said to Ms Sexton \u201cyou had a wedding bouquet to preserve and to press the flowers into a frame. You are owed money \u2014 it never happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Judge Gabbett said: \u201cI have had a number of these cases and Ms Bradley responds that she is happy to refund you \u20ac175.\u201d\n        <\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Ms Sexton said that she would dispute the amount owed and that it is incorrect.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">She said that the correct amount is \u20ac225.50 after a voucher is taken into consideration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Judge Gabbett asked Ms Sexton did she want the flowers back and granted the decree for \u20ac225.50.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">She said: \u201cI am not sure as Ms Bradley said that the art piece was ready \u2014 she was over and back looking at it and she wasn\u2019t entirely happy with it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">In her formal claim, Ms Sexton of Rylane, Cork said she \u201cwent to the trouble of wrapping my beautiful flowers the day after our wedding on April 11, 2024\u201d after a date was booked with Ms Bradley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">\u201cI understood that the artwork might take some time to complete but was not prepared for the subsequent delay and complete lack of communication on Ms Bradley\u2019s part,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">\u201cShe has been predominantly uncontactable\u2026 I am left frustrated and hugely disappointed.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A judge has granted a court decree to a second disappointed bride over a Co Clare based artist\u2019s&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":284578,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[75],"tags":[781,27,18,117,19,17],"class_list":{"0":"post-284577","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-entertainment","8":"tag-cork-news","9":"tag-courts","10":"tag-eire","11":"tag-entertainment","12":"tag-ie","13":"tag-ireland"},"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/pubeurope.com\/@ie\/115895544266556050","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/284577","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=284577"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/284577\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/284578"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=284577"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=284577"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=284577"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
