{"id":284920,"date":"2026-01-15T01:35:12","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T01:35:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/284920\/"},"modified":"2026-01-15T01:35:12","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T01:35:12","slug":"critical-incident-declared-in-over-warwick-hospital-ae-pressure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/284920\/","title":{"rendered":"Critical incident declared in over Warwick Hospital A&#038;E pressure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">A critical incident has been declared by an NHS trust amid growing pressure on its emergency department.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust said the level of attendances at Warwick Hospital&#8217;s A&amp;E was among the highest it had ever seen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">Teams were trying to see people as quickly as possible, the trust added, but the increased demand meant they were unable to maintain the waiting times it &#8220;strives for&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">It said those seeking care would be waiting for a &#8220;significant length of time&#8221; and asked anyone attending the hospital to minimise the number of people with them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">It urged people only to visit A&amp;E for life-threatening emergencies and seek help via 111, pharmacies, GPs or the minor injuries unit at Stratford Hospital for any other health issues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM) <a target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/cpv7jwkw3mjo\" class=\"sc-f9178328-0 iCaRzc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">also declared a critical incident<\/a> on Wednesday due to &#8220;extremely high demand&#8221; for its services, including for the emergency department at Royal Stoke University Hospital.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A critical incident has been declared by an NHS trust amid growing pressure on its emergency department.
