A video game called ‘Euro Truck Simulator 2’ is preparing to extend its virtual road network to the island of Ireland<\/a>, and County Tipperary<\/a> is set to feature in the expansion.<\/p>\n

The Isle of Ireland map expansion downloadable content (DLC), announced by SCS Software in October 2025, will add both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland to the long running driving simulator.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The development will introduce a wide range of cities, landscapes and landmarks, allowing players to haul cargo across the length and breadth of the island.<\/p>\n

For Tipperary, the most notable inclusion is Cashel, with the Rock of Cashel identified as one of the key landmarks recreated for the game.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Rising above the town, the historic site is among Ireland\u2019s most recognisable heritage locations and its presence signals a strong emphasis on regional detail rather than a sole focus on major cities.<\/p>\n

The developers describe a driving experience that blends busy urban centres with quieter rural routes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While cities such as Dublin, Cork, Galway and Belfast anchor the map, smaller towns and villages, including Cashel, are intended to reflect the character of the countryside that surrounds them.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Players can expect roads bordered by farmland, hedgerows and stone walls, a familiar sight across Tipperary\u2019s landscape.<\/p>\n

The expansion aims to capture the varied terrain of the island, from coastal roads to inland routes and motorways.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the case of Tipperary, this means a setting shaped by rolling green fields and agricultural land, offering a contrast to the coastal scenery highlighted elsewhere in the map.<\/p>\n

SCS Software has stressed that the content shown so far remains a work in progress, with further details yet to be revealed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ferry ports such as Rosslare will provide connections beyond the island, linking the new map to the existing UK network within the game.<\/p>\n

The Isle of Ireland expansion promises to place locations like Cashel on a global digital stage, introducing players worldwide to a slice of Tipperary\u2019s heritage and landscape.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The DLC is currently available to add to wishlists on Steam, ahead of its anticipated release in 2026, though no specific date is set yet.\u00a0<\/p>\n
