{"id":287242,"date":"2026-01-16T08:38:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-16T08:38:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/287242\/"},"modified":"2026-01-16T08:38:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-16T08:38:10","slug":"glen-powell-to-star-in-sam-esmails-tesseract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/287242\/","title":{"rendered":"Glen Powell to Star in Sam Esmail&#8217;s Tesseract"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/glen-powell\/\" id=\"auto-tag_glen-powell_1\" data-tag=\"glen-powell\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Glen Powell<\/a> is teaming up with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/mr-robot\/\" id=\"auto-tag_mr-robot_1\" data-tag=\"mr-robot\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mr. Robot<\/a> creator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/sam-esmail\/\" id=\"auto-tag_sam-esmail_1\" data-tag=\"sam-esmail\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sam Esmail<\/a> for an original science fiction feature. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tEsmail is behind Tesseract, the sci-fi project that has landed at Amazon MGM and United Artists.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tPowell is in negotiations to star in the project and to produce with Dan Cohen, his partner at the duo\u2019s Barnstorm production banner.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tEsmail is producing Tesseract via his label, Esmail Corp, along with that company\u2019s Chad Hamilton. UA\u2019s Scott Stuber and Nick Nesbitt are also producing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tLike most Esmail projects, the plot is being kept under wraps. The project does call for two other lead roles, both females, according to sources.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAnd the project, while not greenlit, is eyeing a summer shoot in London and Hungary, according to sources.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tPowell is currently shooting season two of Chad Powers, his sports comedy Hulu series. The actor last starred in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/the-running-man\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-running-man_1\" data-tag=\"the-running-man\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Running Man<\/a>, Paramount\u2019s adaptation of the Stephen King novel directed by Edgar Wright.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tEsmail is best known for Mr. Robot, the cyberthriller series that broke out Rami Malek and ran on USA Network from 2015 to 2019. While a name in the TV space, he in recent years has been making strides in the feature world that attract big name talent. He co-wrote and directed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/leave-the-world-behind-2\/\" id=\"auto-tag_leave-the-world-behind-2_1\" data-tag=\"leave-the-world-behind-2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Leave the World Behind<\/a>, a thriller which starred Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke, Mahershala Ali and Kevin Bacon and proved to be a major hit for Netflix. He is in post on Panic Carefully, a Warner Bros. thriller which counts Roberts, Elizabeth Olsen, Eddie Redmayne and Joe Alwyn amongst its cast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tPowell is repped by CAA and Johnson Shapiro.
