{"id":288572,"date":"2026-01-17T03:11:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-17T03:11:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/288572\/"},"modified":"2026-01-17T03:11:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-17T03:11:07","slug":"nearly-1-million-frigidaire-appliances-recalled-for-fire-hazard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/288572\/","title":{"rendered":"Nearly 1 million Frigidaire appliances recalled for fire hazard"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"T6S7NNBDEJFZ3KHDDYT6GNUM2A\">Nearly 1 million Frigidaire appliances are being recalled for a potential fire hazard.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"P4L4TLGYRRAYHAQCW57SGAROK4\">According to a notice posted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cpsc.gov\/Recalls\/2026\/Curtis-International-Expands-Recall-of-Frigidaire-brand-Minifridges-Due-to-Fire-and-Burn-Hazards\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.cpsc.gov\/Recalls\/2026\/Curtis-International-Expands-Recall-of-Frigidaire-brand-Minifridges-Due-to-Fire-and-Burn-Hazards\">U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission<\/a>, Curtis International is recalling about 964,000 Frigidaire-brand Minifridges because the internal electrical components can short circuit and ignite the surrounding plastic housing \u2014 posing fire and burn hazards.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"SB6Y4UVTXJDS3HYCTTDQHCXWEQ\">The recall involves six-can minifridge model EFMIS121, EFMIS129, EFMIS137, EFMIS149 and EFMIS175 with serial numbers between A2001 to A2310, according to CPSC.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"GJ3M7S3S7JD2XMCXPI3CNYPSDI\">The company has received at least six reports of the minifridges catching fire, with property damages.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"H5QMIYAW5FHD3LIWTBAP5EYGVQ\">The minifridges were sold in red exclusively at Target stores nationwide and online at Target.com, from January 2020 through October 2023 for about $30. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"AVTZXI5F6ZEEXC5Q4K3SPLWNRA\">Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled minifridges and follow the instructions to register for a refund at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.recallrtr.com\/minifridge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">recallrtr.com\/minifridge<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"IHG776HRZFHBDM4L2RR33KE5PY\">Consumers should unplug and cut the power cord, and write \u201crecall\u201d using permanent marker on the front door of the unit.
