{"id":289089,"date":"2026-01-17T10:49:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-17T10:49:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/289089\/"},"modified":"2026-01-17T10:49:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-17T10:49:07","slug":"electrician-living-in-limerick-takes-full-responsibility-for-drink-driving-offence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/289089\/","title":{"rendered":"Electrician living in Limerick takes &#8216;full responsibility&#8217; for drink driving offence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A MAN living in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Limerick<\/a> has pleaded guilty to drink driving before Limerick District Court.<\/p>\n<p>Heorhii Lyzun, 30, with an address at The Park, Crossagalla, Limerick pleaded guilty to driving on the Ballysimon Road with drink taken.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecuting Sergeant Aisling O\u2019Neill, giving facts for the state, said that Mr Lyzun\u2019s car was observed swerving in a public place by a garda at 2am on December 10, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Lyzun, driving the car, went on to mount the kerb at the Tipperary roundabout.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE:<\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/news\/planning\/1989223\/threat-of-demolition-hangs-over-state-of-the-art-equestrian-centre-in-limerick.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Threat of demolition hangs over state-of-the-art equestrian centre in Limerick<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The garda turned on patrol lights and stopped the driver. Upon being stopped, the garda noticed that Mr Lyzun had a strong \u201csmell of alcohol on his breath\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Lyzun was arrested and brought to Henry Street garda station. Tests revealed that he had 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of breath &#8211; significantly over the legal limit for driving.<\/p>\n<p>The man, who chose to go without legal representation, told Judge Patricia Harney that he is single and works as an electrician.<\/p>\n<p>He expressed remorse for his actions, and said \u201cI take full responsibility\u201d for the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Harney convicted and sentenced the man for drink driving.
