{"id":289437,"date":"2026-01-17T15:38:14","date_gmt":"2026-01-17T15:38:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/289437\/"},"modified":"2026-01-17T15:38:14","modified_gmt":"2026-01-17T15:38:14","slug":"limerick-man-up-in-court-for-stealing-hundreds-of-euro-from-workplace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/289437\/","title":{"rendered":"Limerick man up in court for stealing hundreds of euro from workplace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 29-YEAR-OLD man stole hundreds of euros from his work in the space of two months, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Limerick<\/a> District court heard.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dominic McElroy, with a home address at Daar, Riverview, Newcastle West, Limerick, stole over \u20ac600 in total from his workplace &#8211; Trade Electric &#8211; on five separate occasions, ranging between December 2023 and January 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Prosecuting Sergeant Aisling O\u2019Neill, giving facts for the state, said the man is being charged with five counts of theft contrary to section four of the Theft Act.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>READ MORE: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/news\/national-news\/1989129\/irish-primary-school-teacher-who-faked-two-births-got-59-000-in-benefits.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Irish teacher faked two births and cost state \u20ac59,000<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Solicitor Tom Kiely, defending the man, said that Mr McElroy is currently in full-time employment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The man has since paid compensation for the thefts.
