With a total of 59 points scored so far, Cummins and her professional dance partner, Leonardo Lini, are level atop the leaderboard alongside singer Tol\u00fc Makay and Maciej Zieba.<\/p>\n
Cummins said she isn\u2019t letting the favourites tag have an effect on her experience of the competition.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt hasn\u2019t played any impact on my mind,\u201d she said. \u201cIt was the same thing down in Tralee, we had people betting on us all to win, and it\u2019s something that, when you get so immersed into the experience, the same as the Rose of Tralee, you nearly forget it\u2019s a competition.\u201d<\/p>\n
While winning \u201cwould be lovely\u201d, Cummins said her main goal is enjoying being on the show and making the most of the opportunity, as she has done with every opportunity that has come her way in her year as the Rose of Tralee.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have one year of being in the spotlight and being able to get all these opportunities, and I just said yes to them because I only have one year to do it, and it\u2019s more fun for me than anything.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m just interested in immersing myself in the experience and trying to have as much fun as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n
Since being crowned the Rose of Tralee last August, Cummins has highlighted her work as an apprentice electrician, hoping to inspire girls and young women to pursue apprenticeships and enter the trades.<\/p>\n
When the call came from RT\u00c9 asking her to take part in Dancing with the Stars, Cummins was able to pause her apprenticeship to focus her energy on the competition and keep up with her Rose duties.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s about making sure I fit in time for my rehearsals first, they\u2019re a priority, and if there\u2019s an event that we can work around my rehearsal time, we try and do that as well.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve always been the type of person to try and say yes to everything. I\u2019ll eventually probably burn out at some stage, but I have one year to do it.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is challenging, but I\u2019m loving every second of it. I love being busy as a person, I absolutely love being busy, I thrive on being busy and if I had a day off, I\u2019d go crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n
This Sunday\u2019s show continues the annual tradition of movie week, with Cummins and Lini set to dance the American Smooth to Rachel Zegler\u2019s version of Whistle While You Work from Snow White.<\/p>\n
Cummins said she is excited for movie week but the dance will be outside of her comfort zone.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe first week was intense and emotional, last week was more fun and energetic, and then this week is very princessy and cute and dainty.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery week has been different and it\u2019s been a challenge every week with the emotional side of things, but I\u2019m really enjoying that side of it.\u201d<\/p>\n
