It is in this rhythm that Seu Neném lives, a resident of the rural area of Tapira, in Minas Gerais, a simple man with a soft voice, a sharp memory, and stories that span generations. 84 yearsAccording to his own account, his life has been marked by hard work, family losses, changes of city, and decisions that shaped a unique destiny: He got engaged six times, but never got married..

The information was released by a video posted on social mediaThe video shows friends visiting the farm where Seu Neném has lived alone for decades. on his current property, Seu Neném lived in different cities in the region. According to him, he lived for four years in Monte SantoHe lived for periods of time in the city and then returned to the countryside, where he says he has always felt better. On the farm, he still maintains traditional activities, such as cultivating… café, the creation of Nelore cattle and small vegetable gardens, even on a reduced scale.

In his accounts, he explains that he has even produced approximately 100 liters of milk per dayHe used to keep dairy cows in the corral. Currently, production has decreased, and the cattle are raised more freely, focusing only on maintaining the property and providing basic sustenance. Even so, some animals attract attention due to their size: according to him, there are oxen that reach… 800 kilos, a significant number for creations from the region.

Besides the corral, the site preserves old structures, such as the… coffee storage shed, drying yard, water dam built by the resident himself and a wooden house with floortypical of the old construction system. Everything is kept simple, but with care, reinforcing the direct link between manual labor and survival in the countryside.

Another detail that reveals the attachment to traditions is the constant use of wood stove…where the coffee is prepared daily. According to him, the secret lies in the use of thin bamboo and dry twigs, which ensure a quick fire and a consistently hot beverage, a ritual repeated every day for decades.

Engagements, family losses, and decisions that changed destiny.

even though never having marriedSeu Neném says that He had several girlfriends. throughout life and it came to pass groom six timesAlthough at times he himself corrects the number to three formal engagements. Regardless of the exact count, none of these relationships led to marriage.

According to his own account, one of the main reasons was his family context. In one of his most serious marriage attempts, a violent episode marked his life: a brother was shotThis deeply shook the family and caused him to call off the wedding. According to him, the episode completely changed the course of his personal plans.

In addition to this event, the size of the family, internal conflicts, and responsibilities on the farm also contributed to the marriage being postponed until it never happened. Thus, life took another path, marked by the care of the property and mutual support between siblings, sisters-in-law, and nephews.

Even though he lives alone, Seu Neném isn’t completely isolated. Family members help by bringing him food, shopping in town, and offering daily support. Still, he says he prefers the tranquility of the countryside to the hustle and bustle of the city, emphasizing that he has never adapted to city life.

Memory, tradition and resistance to time in the countryside

Among the objects kept in the house, true relics emerge: old lamps, kerosene-fueled lampsMetal cans, kitchen utensils, and structures that are no longer in use but remain preserved as part of history. Seu Neném also proudly recalls the times when he participated in fishing trips and local championships, even winning a competition by catching a fish with… almost 4 kilos, an achievement that is still recounted with enthusiasm today.

Another remarkable chapter involves the music and dances held in the coffee storage shed. According to him, his own mother organized parties there, where couples danced to traditional music. These were… more than 20 dancesThese photographs, taken in their youth, are a portrait of a time when social life in the countryside revolved around family, neighborhood, and farming.

The property where he currently lives is part of an area that was once much larger. In the past, the farm had… more than 500 bushels, which was later divided among the heirs. Today, the family’s share amounts to approximately 105 acres, still considered extensive by regional standards.

Despite the difficulties, occasional falls, and natural physical limitations of age, Seu Neném sums up his philosophy of life in a few words: “Life is good, you just have to know how to live it.”A simple phrase, but one that reflects decades of work, sacrifices, and resilience in the Brazilian countryside.

At over 80 years old, this rural resident preserves old habits, stories of loss, and a lifetime dedicated…

[73
79,18,145291,19,17,145292,145293,145294,145295
post-291364","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-business","tag-business","tag-eire","tag-historias-do-interior","tag-ie","tag-ireland","tag-memoria-familiar","tag-tradicao-rural","tag-vida-no-campo","tag-zona-rural-brasileira
["GET
