Dingle have claimed their first ever All-Ireland title in the most dramatic of circumstances, overcoming Roscommon’s St Brigid’s after a thrilling extra-time contest at Croke Park.<\/p>\n

This was an enthralling contest, especially towards the end of the second half. Dingle looked to be in a fantastic position to win it when St Brigid’s received a black card with 15 minutes left to play, giving the Kerry side a numerical advantage at a key stage in the game.<\/p>\n

They would get their noses in front late on, although the Roscommon side showed a huge amount of fight to get back into the game. AFL star Mark O’Connor would produce a heroic block to stop a Brigid’s goal, just before injury time, although Anthony Cunningham’s side would score the resulting 45 to put a point between the sides.<\/p>\n

While Paul Geaney would extend the lead back to two soon after, there was still time for Ruadhr\u00ed Fallon to score a last gasp equaliser.<\/p>\n

Things would remain incredibly close throughout extra-time, with the sides still level entering the final five minutes of the game.<\/p>\n

In the end, a late score from Dingle’s Mikie Geaney would prove to be the key moment in the contest.<\/p>\n

Dingle would go on to kick another score from a free soon after, running out as two-point winners to claim their first ever All-Ireland club title.<\/p>\n

Kerry’s Paul Geaney Showed His Class With Gesture After Dingle Win<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was a remarkable win for Dingle, who showed some incredible mettle to come back and win the game in extra-time. Not only had they suffered the heartbreak of the levelling score in normal time, but they also trailed by two points in the dying moments of the match.<\/p>\n

Paul Geaney was once again instrumental in the result, producing a top class display.<\/p>\n

The Kerry man also showed his class after the final whistle. Instead of celebrating with his teammates, he would go and commiserate the St Brigid’s players once the referee brought the game to an end. He singled out the heroic Ruaidhr\u00ed Fallon for particular praise.<\/p>\n

This is a magnificent occasion for Dingle as a whole, but Geaney is particularly deserving of the accolades that will rightly come his way after the latest landmark achievement is his storied GAA career.<\/p>\n
