A Cork<\/a> man will vie to come out on top in the new season of British TV series The Apprentice, which starts next week on BBC One.<\/p>\n

Conor Galvin, the owner of a photobooth business, will compete in the 20th series of the show against 19 others bidding to impress the businessman Alan Sugar and secure a \u00a3250,000 investment.<\/p>\n

Raised in Glengarriff, West Cork, Mr Galvin graduated from UCD with a degree in business and law, according to his Linkedin page.<\/p>\n

His company, Press Print Paper, is aimed at \u201ctransforming special moments into timeless, vintage-style newspaper prints\u201d.<\/p>\n

Apprentices face tough tasks<\/p>\n

The BBC One show will see Mr Galvin and the other candidates undertake a series of tough tasks including creating a children’s book, selling live on television, and hosting a corporate away day on the Red Sea in El Gouna, Egypt.<\/p>\n

The 20 candidates will be whittled down over 12 episodes until there is a sole winner.<\/p>\n

Mr Galvin has said he wants the company to become a household name and expand to London, Manchester and Birmingham.<\/p>\n

He said his business may be fun and light-hearted, but he is a serious candidate who is “constantly learning the tougher side of strategy, structure and scaling”.<\/p>\n
