Ringing Irish Ferries to make a booking, the somewhat startled chap had said \u201cDo you realise, missus, it\u2019s now 11am and the boat sails at 4pm?\u201d \u201cNo, problem.\u201d says I, blithely. \u201cIf we miss it, we\u2019ll go to Kerry.\u201d It was one of the best things we ever did, rolling off the boat at Cherbourg with no reservations anywhere \u2013 it\u2019s the way I like to travel, constantly curious as to what\u2019s around the corner. Anything more than two nights in one place, no matter how gorgeous, is my idea of a nightmare.<\/p>\n<p class=\"indo-ebe0ecc6_root indo-ebe0ecc6_paragraph indo-300db776_none indo-91174671_primary indo-1d70522a_marginbottom0 indo-1d70522a_margintop0 indo-b48c4984_inherit\" style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">Anyway, on another Sunday morning in 2018, our \u2018surprise\u2019 trip was only down the road to Greystones, where I\u2019d spotted a new Pakistani restaurant doing brunch, which was something of a novelty for an Asian restaurant at the time.
