Canadian actress Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova<\/strong>, who\u2019s best known for her role as Svetlana in the widely popular Heated Rivalry series, has shared her interest in joining the DC Universe<\/a> to play the newest live-action version of Starfire<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The fan-favorite Teen Titans<\/strong><\/a> character was previously played by Anna Diop in the HBO Max show Titans<\/a>, which lasted for four seasons from 2018 to 2023.<\/p>\n

Why does Heated Rivalry\u2019s Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova want to play Starfire?<\/p>\n

During a recent interview with EnVi, Kharlamova explained why she wants to play Starfire in the DCU, revealing that she\u2019s a fan of the superhero genre. She loves how superhero movies make people feel \u201cless alone\u201d and \u201cinspired.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s just such a fun genre,\u201d She said. \u201c(There\u2019s) a certain sense of wonder. It\u2019s just so beautiful, and I would love to be in a movie that evokes that feeling from people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Besides Starfire, Kharlamova also admitted that there\u2019s actually \u201cplenty of cool characters\u201d that she wants to play if she ever gets the chance. She also confirmed that she has been reading X-Men comics, seemingly hinting at her interest in also potentially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. <\/p>\n

In 2024, it was reported that DC Studios had started developing a live-action Teen Titans movie<\/a>, with Supergirl movie writer Ana Nogueira attached to pen the screenplay. However, six months ago, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn<\/a> revealed that he hadn\u2019t read any script<\/a> for the Teen Titans movie despite previous rumors about its first draft.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnything you\u2019ve heard about that movie is made up or a guess. No one in the world knows anything about the concept for the story except four people,\u201d Gunn said. <\/p>\n

In the Creature Commandos series, Starfire actually had a brief, non-speaking cameo, which seemingly teased the character\u2019s future in the DCU. The DC hero is set to receive her own animated show<\/a> from DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation, which will be executive-produced by Josie Campbell. Gunn previously confirmed that this Starfire show will be part of the DCU\u2019s Elseworlds.<\/p>\n
