{"id":29510,"date":"2025-08-28T22:13:07","date_gmt":"2025-08-28T22:13:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/29510\/"},"modified":"2025-08-28T22:13:07","modified_gmt":"2025-08-28T22:13:07","slug":"mans-best-friend-is-not-for-pearl-clutchers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/29510\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Man&#8217;s Best Friend&#8217; Is Not for &#8216;Pearl Clutchers&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tPeople who felt scandalized by Short n\u2019 Sweet songs such as \u201cJuno\u201d or \u201cBed Chem\u201d probably won\u2019t like Man\u2019s Best Friend, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/sabrina-carpenter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Sabrina Carpenter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn a clip released Thursday (Aug. 28) ahead of her appearance on CBS Mornings Friday, the pop star confirmed that her new album is not for the faint of heart \u2014 and if they do want to listen, they\u2019ll probably want to do it in the privacy of their own homes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cThe album is not for any pearl clutchers,\u201d Carpenter told Gayle King of the LP, which drops Friday (Aug. 29). \u201cBut I also think that even pearl clutchers can listen to an album like that in their own solitude and find something that makes them smirk and chuckle to themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tWhen King noted that the songs on the project are as \u201csexual\u201d as they are \u201cpowerful\u201d and \u201cvulnerable,\u201d the two-time Grammy winner replied, \u201cI think that\u2019s the thing, is sometimes people hear the lyrics that are really bold or they go, \u2018I don\u2019t want to sing this in front of other people.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s like it\u2019s almost too TMI,\u201d Carpenter added. \u201cBut I think about being at a concert with, you know, however many young women I see in the front row that are screaming at the top of their lungs with their best friends, and you can go like, \u2018Oh, we can all sigh [in] relief like, \u2018This is just fun.\u2019 And that\u2019s all it has to be.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThis isn\u2019t the first time the pop star has addressed backlash to her sexual song lyrics, which have polarized audiences ever since Carpenter found breakout success with 2024 album Short n\u2019 Sweet. In a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/sabrina-carpenter-new-album-mans-best-friend-fame-1235359144\/\">Rolling Stone<\/a> cover story published in June, she said, \u201cIt\u2019s always so funny to me when people complain \u2026 like, \u2018All she does is sing about this.&#8217;\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cBut those are the songs that you\u2019ve made popular,\u201d she continued at the time. \u201cClearly you love sex. You\u2019re obsessed with it. It\u2019s in my show. There\u2019s so many more moments than the \u2018Juno\u2019 positions, but those are the ones you post every night and comment on. I can\u2019t control that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tMan\u2019s Best Friend has also caused people to, as Carpenter puts it, clutch their pearls even before its release. When the Girl Meets World alum first shared its cover art \u2014 a photo of herself down on all fours, held in place by a man grabbing her hair \u2014 she was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/pop\/sabrina-carpenter-mans-best-friend-album-cover-view-debate-1235998325\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">met with backlash<\/a> from some critics who found the image degrading to women. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tNot to worry, though.
