Loving animals is in Grace Warrior\u2019s blood \u2014 and fearlessly taking care of them is too. That\u2019s why we aren\u2019t surprised at all that the Crocodile Hunter\u2019s granddaughter isn\u2019t even scared of a spikey animal in her Australia Zoo home. Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell\u2019s 4-year-old daughter just fed a spiny echidna in a new photo, and she looks as natural doing it as a Disney princess.<\/p>\n

\u201cWatching Grace feeding one of our beautiful echidnas @australiazoo<\/a> is incredibly heartwarming,\u201d Bindi\u2019s mom (and Grace\u2019s \u201cBunny\u201d) Terri Irwin captioned a new photo on Instagram<\/a>. \u201cSo much love.\ud83d\udc95\u201d<\/p>\n

In the snap, Grace wears a pretty white-and-pink sundress with ruffled sleeves as she sits on the grass. One hand is outstretched to feed an echidna straight from her palm, which makes her smile. She doesn\u2019t look nervous at all as she visits with this cute animal.<\/p>\n

In case you aren\u2019t familiar, echidnas<\/a> are similar to porcupines and hedgehogs, with spikes up to 5 inches long that are used to protect themselves when in danger. It\u2019s clear this echidna doesn\u2019t sense any danger in Grace, because it\u2019s happily chomping away at the feed from her little hand.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe is being raised in such an incredible environment with the most amazing family! \ud83d\ude01\ud83d\ude01\u201d one person praised in the comments. Another wrote, \u201cSo adorable and loving to all the animals!\ud83d\udc95\ud83d\udc95\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is such a precious and beautiful photo!\u201d someone else wrote. \u201cI love that it\u2019s in her gene to love animals! She is so sweet, kind and respectful of the animals! I see her granddad in Heaven looking down on her with so much pride! \ud83d\udc96\u201d<\/p>\n

Bindi has gushed about how much her daughter is just like her dad, the late Steve Irwin. In a Dec. 2024 interview on In Real Life with Ellis & Ross<\/a> podcast, Bindi reflected on how much her dad \u201cwould love\u201d Grace. \u201cShe is so much like him, it\u2019s a little scary,\u201d Irwin said. \u201cShe has so much fire and passion and energy in such a\u00a0teeny tiny\u00a0little body. I don\u2019t know where it fits! They would be so similar, and,\u00a0ah,\u00a0it would just be fun to watch them play.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later, Bindi revealed that Grace watches her dad\u2019s documentaries and calls him \u201cGrandpa Crocodile.\u201d \u00a0\u201cShe started doing the \u2018Crikey!\u2019s and the \u2018danger, danger, danger!\u2019 like jumping on the plush crocs, and it\u2019s so cute to watch her,\u201d Bindi said. \u201cAnd she\u2019s starting to connect the fact that the man she sees on the television is her grandfather. Like, she\u2019s like, \u2018So that\u2019s mama\u2019s dada?\u2019 and it\u2019s just, it rips your heart out a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n

It certainly does! Still, we love how Grace is a bright spot in their lives and keeps her grandfather\u2019s memory alive just by being her.<\/p>\n
