The company also contributed to the development of the open protocol by adapting the agentic commerce flows to account-to-account payments, according to a Monday (Jan. 19) press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The collaboration with Google is part of Revolut\u2019s efforts to make Revolut Pay a core payment rail for automated and conversational artificial intelligence commerce across all platforms in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area (EEA), according to the release.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy enabling Revolut Pay for agentic commerce, we are aiming to make our customers\u2019 favorite, most secure payment experience the standard for AI-driven transactions,\u201d Alex Codina<\/a>, general manager of acquiring at Revolut, said in the release. \u201cThis will ensure speed, trust and absolute zero friction for the next generation of digital buying.\u201d<\/p>\n

Google introduced AP2<\/a> in September, saying the protocol was developed in tandem with payments and tech firms and is designed to \u201csecurely initiate and transact agent-led payments across platforms.\u201d<\/p>\n

The company highlighted Revolut as one of the more than 60 companies with which it was collaborating on agentic payments.<\/p>\n

In the Monday press release, Tara Brady<\/a>, president of Google Cloud EMEA, said: \u201cBy leveraging Google\u2019s AP2 protocol, Revolut will remove friction from AI-assisted shopping. Together, Revolut and Google are transforming digital commerce for millions of users in the \u2026EEA and the U.K.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Revolut said in October that it acquired Swifty<\/a>, a startup that offers an AI-powered travel agent<\/a>, and planned to integrate that technology into Revolut\u2019s loyalty program to add smart financial guidance and the automated execution of complex travel and lifestyle tasks to the customer experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis acquisition strengthens our position at the intersection of finance, AI and lifestyle,\u201d Revolut Head of Loyalty Christopher Guttridge<\/a> said at the time in a press release.<\/p>\n

Revolut said in November that it completed a share sale that gave it a valuation<\/a> of $75 billion, up from $45 billion in 2024.<\/p>\n

The company said one of the investors in the share sale was NVentures<\/a>, the venture capital arm of Nvidia<\/a>, \u201cdeepening Revolut\u2019s collaboration with the global technology leader in key areas including AI.\u201d<\/p>\n
