The Pok\u00e9mon Go Community Day<\/strong> is a reoccurring, monthly event highlighting a specific Pok\u00e9mon that encourages players to get out and play together worldwide.<\/p>\n

Each event will see increased spawns of the Pok\u00e9mon for a limited time, and give them an exclusive Community Day move<\/strong> for their final evolution – and several other bonuses you can take advantage of during the event itself.<\/p>\n

This page features not only the next Community Day date and time<\/strong> and highlighted Pok\u00e9mon, but also a Community Day list<\/strong> of all previous events and their respective exclusive moves in Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What is Community Day in Pok\u00e9mon Go?<\/p>\n

Community Day usually takes place on one weekend day every month and lasts a total of three hours.<\/p>\n

As well as increasing spawns of the highlighted Pok\u00e9mon, there are bonuses during that period of time – such as double XP, Stardust or Lure Modules – as additional incentives to get out there and playing, including the highlighted Pok\u00e9mon having an increased chance of being shiny, and the ability to reach the highlighted Pok\u00e9mon’s evolution an exclusive move.<\/p>\n

It’s a great way to get resources and a rare version of the highlighted Pok\u00e9mon, but it’s as the name suggests, is a great way to team up with other players.<\/p>\n

Community Days are a great opportunity to raid and trade with others – at a responsible and safe distance, of course.Watch on YouTube<\/a><\/p>\n

You may find other Pok\u00e9mon Go players will be out and about with you, which might make it easier to co-ordinate completing Raids<\/a> or doing Trades<\/a>, so keep that in mind during the period.<\/p>\n

\nThere’s a lot to do in Pok\u00e9mon Go outside of the current event! First, it’s worth learning about the level update<\/a>. After this, you might want to fight in the Go Battle League<\/a>, use Party Play<\/a>, compete in a Pok\u00e9Stop Showcase<\/a> or explore a Route<\/a> for its Gift Exchange<\/a>. Keep an eye out for rare Pok\u00e9mon<\/a> and don’t forget to collect Max Particles<\/a>, so you can battle Dynamax Pok\u00e9mon<\/a> in Max Battles<\/a>.

Pok\u00e9mon Go’s next Community Day: February Community Day date and time explained<\/p>\n

Here’s everything you need to know about the February Community Day:<\/p>\n

\"Vulpix.\"<\/p>\n

Date:<\/strong> Sunday 1st February<\/p>\n

Time:<\/strong> 2pm to 5pm local time<\/p>\n

Highlighted Pok\u00e9mon:<\/strong> Vulpix and Alolan Vulpix<\/p>\n

Bonus 1:<\/strong> Triple Catch XP<\/p>\n

Bonus 2:<\/strong> Double Catch Candy<\/p>\n

Bonus 3:<\/strong> Double chance for Trainers (level 31 and up) to get XL Candy<\/a> from catching Pok\u00e9mon<\/p>\n

Bonus 4:<\/strong> Lure Modules used during the event will last an hour between 2pm to 9pm (local time)<\/p>\n

Bonus 5:<\/strong> From 2pm to 9pm (local time), Vulpix and Alolan Vulpix will have a higher chance of appearing at Pok\u00e9Stops with active Lure Modules. These Grookeys will have an increased chance of being shiny and may have a special background.<\/p>\n

Bonus 6:<\/strong> Incense used between 2pm to 5pm (local time) will last for three hours (not including Daily Adventure Incense)<\/p>\n

Bonus 7:<\/strong> One more Special Trade<\/a> can be made from 2pm to 9pm (local time)<\/p>\n

Bonus 8:<\/strong> Trades consume 50% less Stardust from 2pm to 9pm (local time)<\/p>\n

Bonus 9:<\/strong> Event-exclusive field research tasks offering Stardust, Great Balls and Vulpix (both Kanto and Alolan) encounters, which might even have a seasonal special background.<\/p>\n

Bonus 10:<\/strong> Pok\u00e9mon encounter from photobombing Go Snapshot<\/a><\/p>\n

Exclusive move for Ninetales:<\/strong> Energy Ball, Grass-type Charged Attack (Evolve Vulpix)<\/p>\n

How useful is this Community Day?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The best thing about the Vulpix Community Day is the triple Catch XP bonus. Thanks to this bonus, you’ll be able to gather a good amount of XP super quickly and might even be able to level up. It’s a good idea to use a Lucky Egg during this event so you can further increase the amount of XP you’re collecting.<\/p>\n

As always, this Community Day is useful if you want to add shiny versions of foxes to your collection. (Might as well take advantage of those increased shiny rates.) It’s also useful for any newcomers who haven’t had the chance to add Vulpix and \/ or Ninetales to their Pok\u00e9dex yet.<\/p>\n

Sadly, when it comes to the Pok\u00e9mon Go meta, both forms of Ninetales are perfectly useless. The only one that does hold its own is Shadow Alolan Ninetales, so, if you are considering doing any team improvements, use this event to gather Vulpix Candy to power up this Pok\u00e9mon if you have it. Just don’t waste time powering up any other Ninetales…<\/p>\n

How to prepare for Pok\u00e9mon Go Community Day<\/p>\n

First of all, the secret allure of Community Day is the introduction of a shiny version of the highlighted Pok\u00e9mon<\/strong>, which will have a boosted rate during the event. That, combined with the increased spawns, makes it easy to get a a handful of shinies across the six hours.<\/p>\n

Remember, unlike high IV Pok\u00e9mon, shinies<\/a> don’t appear in the same place for everyone like high-IV Pok\u00e9mon – there’s a random chance of each one you encounter could be a shiny. If you’re struggling, try ‘shiny checking’, by tapping a Pok\u00e9mon, then backing out without catching, then moving on to the next.<\/p>\n

Second, there will be bonus Field Research<\/strong>. Community Days also have their own special Field Research tasks<\/a> based on the specific Pok\u00e9mon the day is highlighting. The rewards are usually just consumable items – Berries and the like – but it’s an additional thing to complete as you play.<\/p>\n

Third, every Community Day offers 3-Hour Lures<\/strong>. This is the perfect day to catch as many Pok\u00e9mon as physically possible, and with the increased spawn rate, increase your chances of finding a shiny.<\/p>\n

The best way to take advantage of these bonuses is to find a set of Pok\u00e9Stops that are in quick walking distance or one another. You can then set up a Lure Module in one (or in multiple) and then walk between the Pok\u00e9Stops; taking advantage of the Lure and ensuring that you don’t run out of Pok\u00e9 Balls or Berries.<\/p>\n

It’s also an ideal time to experiment with either a Glacial Lure, Mossy Lure or Magnetic Lure Modules<\/a>. These special lures attract a specific type of Pok\u00e9mon depending on your chosen Lure. If you wanted to catch Water or Ice Pok\u00e9mon, for example, then you would use a Glacial Lure Module. These specialised Lure Modules cost 200 Pok\u00e9Coins from the in-game shop..<\/p>\n

There are also specific bonuses for each Community Day<\/strong>, from reduced hatching distance to increased Stardust and XP. Even without the bonuses, remember Community Day is an opportunity to catch a lot of creatures in a short space of time, useful if you want to get through the backlog of Eggs in your roster, or put on a Lucky Egg or Star Piece<\/a> to increase your gains from catches.<\/p>\n

Remember, if there is a deduced hatch rate, you only get bonus on Eggs<\/a> you put into incubators during<\/strong> Community Day bonus hours. If you have an egg in an incubator before the event starts, it’s hatch distance still stay the same. Also, if you don’t hatch it before the event ends, it will stay that reduced distance until it does – so worth cramming one last one in before the event finishes!<\/p>\n

Also before the event itself, it may also be worth stockpiling Pinap Berries and Great or Ultra Balls<\/strong>. The Pinaps will increase your Candy gains – useful for evolving and powering up after the event ends – and you can really burn through Pok\u00e9 Balls over the course of the event. If you run out, then spin Pok\u00e9Stops or complete the newly added Field Research that appears.<\/p>\n

Finally, make sure you evolve the highlighted Pok\u00e9mon to its third evolution to get an exclusive move<\/strong>. More of this in the following section…<\/p>\n

Pok\u00e9mon Go Community Day list: All exclusive moves list and how they work<\/p>\n

Every featured Pok\u00e9mon during a Community Day weekend will offer an exclusive move when evolved to its final evolution.<\/p>\n

Not only are these exclusive to these weekends, but they are more often than not the best move their third evolution can offer, and can propel them up the meta.<\/p>\n

You have two hours after the Community Day ends to evolve the Pok\u00e9mon to get their move, so don’t worry about having to sort through your collection during the six hour window.<\/p>\n

If you miss out on evolving the Pok\u00e9mon once Community Day weekend is over to get the exclusive move, don’t panic – you can use an Elite TM, or wait until December, where a special weekend will give you another chance to catch and evolve that previous year’s Community Day Pok\u00e9mon.<\/p>\n

Pok\u00e9mon Go Community Day Classic list: All exclusive moves list<\/p>\n

Community Day Classic events in Pok\u00e9mon Go highlight a past Community Day Pok\u00e9mon and, just like the regular event, offers you a chance to get a Pok\u00e9mon with an exclusive attack.<\/p>\n

The rules for earning this exclusive move are exactly the same too – you must reach the final evolution for the chosen Pok\u00e9mon and said evolution must take place during the event or within the first two hours after it ends.<\/p>\n

These moves may not always be the best attack for this Pok\u00e9mon, but, if want it and miss out on the event, you can always use an Elite TM on the final evolution to teach them the move.<\/p>\n
