{"id":297997,"date":"2026-01-22T17:21:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-22T17:21:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/297997\/"},"modified":"2026-01-22T17:21:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-22T17:21:10","slug":"gardai-investigate-sexual-assault-allegations-at-mid-west-primary-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/297997\/","title":{"rendered":"Garda\u00ed investigate sexual assault allegations at Mid-West primary school"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Garda\u00ed are investigating a series of alleged sexual assaults of a child at a primary school in the Mid-West which occurred over the space of several months, the  Irish Examiner can reveal.<\/p>\n<p>A Garda spokesperson confirmed \u201cenquiries are ongoing\u201d in relation to the assaults which allegedly occurred in 2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The victim was 11 at the time of the incidents, it is claimed. It is further understood the incidents occurred over the duration of several months on school grounds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Sources said the concerned school contacted Tusla, which conducted an investigation in 2024. Garda\u00ed were then contacted in 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">In response to a query, a spokesperson for Tusla said: \u201cTusla \u2014 Child and Family Agency \u2014 does not comment on individual cases.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">&#8220;When a child or family enters into a relationship with a public service such as Tusla, they are entitled to expect that information generated in that relationship is treated in confidence and remains private.
