Garmin has released a new update for many of its older high-end smartwatches. Rolling out globally now, the new update introduces 20 changes and improvements that should improve compatible smartwatches in numerous areas.

Garmin has now finalised its recent round of beta development for the Fenix 7 and Fenix 7 Pro (curr. $489.99 on Amazon). To recap, the company issued Beta Version 25.11 earlier this week to all Beta Program participants with Fenix 7 series smartwatches and all their Enduro, Epix, Quatix, Marq and D2 Mach derivations. The fourth v25.xx beta, Beta Version 25.11 enabled ECG functionality while keeping Garmin’s Dive software disabled.

Nonetheless, Garmin has transitioned v25.11 to its stable software program. Arriving as System Software 25.11, the update is already said to have been offered to around 20% of eligble smartwatches. Typically, Garmin offers updates in batches. Thus, it could take a few days before System Software 25.11 reaches your Enduro 2, Epix 2, Fenix 7, Quatix 7, Marq 2 or D2 Mach 1 smartwatch.

Alternatively, one can request the new update manually by navigating through the main menu to Settings, System and Software before selecting ‘Check for Updates’. As usual, Garmin does not provide a changelog on the smartwatch directly or within its Connect app. Instead, the company lists a 20-line changelog across several forum posts. Please see the changelog below for more details.

Changelog from System Software 23.48 to 25.11

Fixed an issue for Fenix 7 variants without wifi where skin temperature data was not getting properly tracked in GCM

Fixed an issue in the dog track glance.

Fixed an issue on the map when previewing a course to navigate.

Fixed an issue where an activity recorded with Pace Pro would display invalid data in the activity review widget.

Fixed an issue where some datafields were not getting drawn on certain watch faces.

Fixed an issue where sometimes the device would reboot when changing overlay on the Weather Radar map.

Fixed an issue where sometimes the OHR would not turn on in an activity if it had been previously turned off before.

Fixed an issue where sometimes the time displayed on the Weather Radar map page would not match the system’s time format.

Fixed an issue where Strength workouts where edited weight would not carry over to following sets.

Fixed an issue where the device would sometimes be unable to connect to Nautique Boats.

Fixed an issue where the device would sometimes shutdown when downloading maps

Fixed an issue where the device would sometimes shutdown when saving a Golf activity.

Fixed an issue where the device would sometimes shutdown when selecting a contact in the InReach widget.

Fixed an issue where the device would sometimes shutdown when viewing the steps of a Daily Suggested Workout.

Fixed an issue where the HRM 600 would incorrectly read ANT+ connection only on the sensor settings page.

Fixed an issue where the Morning Report’s scheduled page would show the previous day’s schedule.

Fixed an issue where the Tide Alerts would not display data according to the system’s unit configuration.

Fixed an issue with the menu title in the Sleep Mode setup menu.

Updated the appearance of the progress bar on the Audiobooks list select.

Updated the Golf activity to now support disabling/enabling the auto-lap feature.

Alex Alderson – Senior Tech Writer – 14060 articles published on Notebookcheck since 2018

Prior to writing and translating for Notebookcheck, I worked for various companies including Apple and Neowin.
