{"id":298892,"date":"2026-01-23T05:02:06","date_gmt":"2026-01-23T05:02:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/298892\/"},"modified":"2026-01-23T05:02:06","modified_gmt":"2026-01-23T05:02:06","slug":"slipknot-drop-cybersquatting-lawsuit-against-domain-slipknot-com","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/298892\/","title":{"rendered":"Slipknot drop cybersquatting lawsuit against domain Slipknot.com"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/domainnamewire.com\/2026\/01\/22\/heavy-metal-band-slipknot-dismisses-lawsuit-over-slipknot-com-domain\/\"><strong> Domain Name Wire<\/strong><\/a>, <strong>Slipknot<\/strong> have voluntarily dismissed the patent and trademark infringement lawsuit they filed <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/lambgoat.com\/news\/50067\/slipknot-file-lawsuit-against-slipknotcom-cybersquatter\/\">last fall against the Slipknot.com domain<\/a>, which alleged cybersquatting under the federal Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act.<\/p>\n<p>The suit claimed the Slipknot.com domain was registered in 2001, several years after the band formed, and was being used to profit from the group&#8217;s name via pay-per-click ads for concert tickets, merchandise, and VIP packages. Slipknot have long operated their official site under Slipknot1.com.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, attorneys for the domain&#8217;s owner moved to dismiss the case, arguing Slipknot failed to properly serve the registrant within the court&#8217;s required timeframe.
